Fits LG Watch R W100 and replaces OEM battery part number BL-S2 directly.
3.85V lithium-polymer cell with 280mAh capacity restores full-day operation on this circular smartwatch.
Connector seats into the Watch R battery slot with no locking tab — alignment is critical during reassembly.
We bench-tested this cell on the W100 platform; BMS accepted the pack on first insert with normal fuel gauge behavior.
After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use — the fuel gauge IC on smartwatch platforms cannot calibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Watch R / Watch Urbane 3G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-S2)

This is a 3.85V, 280mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing the BL-S2 battery in the LG Watch R (W100) and Watch Urbane 3G. Both watches use the same connector, cell footprint, and BMS handshake, making this cell a direct fit across the platform. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold charge through normal daily use.

  • Watch R and Urbane 3G compatibility: Both models share the same 3.85V rail, physical cell dimensions (38.30 × 23.20 × 3.20mm), and BL-S2 connector. The BMS on each platform negotiates the same charge termination voltage, so one cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Watch R platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the fuel gauge IC re-calibrated after one full charge cycle from near-depleted.
  • Fuel gauge calibration after swap: Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately after fitting this cell and charge it fully to 100% before first use. The LG Watch R's fuel gauge IC loses its state-of-charge reference when the cell is removed. Without a full charge cycle from near-zero, the gauge will report inaccurate percentages — often showing 0% or jumping erratically.

Why the Watch R's charge contacts stop delivering current after reassembly

The Watch R charges through a magnetic pogo-pin cradle that requires precise rear-case alignment. If the rear cover is even slightly off-centre after reassembly, the spring contacts miss their pads and the watch receives no charge current. The watch will show the charging animation briefly — triggered by magnetic attachment — then stall at the same battery percentage. Re-seat the rear cover, confirm it clicks flush on all sides, then place it back on the charger and watch for a steady charge indicator within 30 seconds.

Watch R not pairing to the phone after battery replacement

Removing the battery cuts power to the BLE controller, which drops the active pairing session stored in the watch's volatile memory. The phone retains the old device record, but the watch no longer has a matching session key. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the LG Watch R entry, then re-pair from scratch through the LG Watch Manager or Android Wear app. Do not attempt a re-pair until the watch has completed its first full charge cycle post-swap.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG Watch R shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Watch R's fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference the moment the original cell is disconnected, so it has no data to calculate state-of-charge on the new cell. Place the watch on its charger immediately without trying to power it on first, and leave it until it reaches 100%. After that full charge cycle, the gauge re-calibrates and the watch will boot and report accurately.

The new battery is draining completely by early afternoon — my old one used to last all day even when it was worn out.

A freshly swapped cell often shows aggressive drain in the first few days because the fuel gauge is still calibrating and the Watch R's always-on display plus continuous heart rate polling can draw heavily if those settings were re-enabled after the swap. Check that the display timeout and heart rate monitoring interval are set the same as before — some firmware versions reset these to more aggressive defaults after a full power cycle. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles and the reported drain should stabilise.

The LG Watch R heart rate sensor seems to be killing the new battery faster than it killed the worn-out one — is something wrong?

This is normal for the first week after a cell swap. The heart rate sensor's current draw is constant, but a new cell presents a slightly different impedance profile than a degraded one. The BMS adjusts its power delivery over the first several charge cycles as it learns the new cell's characteristics. If high drain continues past five full cycles, disable continuous HR monitoring and switch to on-demand measurement — that setting alone cuts sensor current draw significantly on the Watch R platform.
