Fits LUX-TOOLS A-36LI/38 H and AC36-40 cordless drills, saws, and impact drivers; replaces OEM part 36LB2600.
36V lithium-ion at 3000mAh (108Wh) sustains full-load drilling and cutting without voltage sag on motor start.
Slide-lock connector seats flush into the tool battery slot with positive contact pins facing downward into the housing.
We tested this pack on a LUX-TOOLS drill under sustained load; the BMS held steady through trigger inrush surges without nuisance cutoff.
On first use with this 36V pack, run the tool at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque operation—lets the BMS profile your motor's inrush current before setting overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LUX-TOOLS A-36LI/38 H — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (36LB2600)

This is a 36V 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for LUX-TOOLS cordless power tools. It fits the A-36LI/38 H and AC36-40 models — drills, saws, and impact drivers running on the 36V platform. Capacity is 108Wh, matching the original 36LB2600 specification.

  • A-36LI/38 H and AC36-40 platform: Both models share the same 36V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack fits either tool without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated motor-start trigger pulls on a 36V drill. The BMS cleared inrush current spikes without nuisance tripping, and cell voltage recovered cleanly between cycles.
  • Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you hit it with maximum load.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in 36V drills and saws

Every brushless motor draws a spike of current the instant it starts — this inrush can be three to five times the running draw. On a 36V pack, the BMS watches for overcurrent events and cuts output if the spike exceeds its programmed threshold. A new pack from storage hasn't yet mapped that motor's start signature, which means the first few trigger pulls are the most likely to trip the cutoff. Two break-in cycles at reduced load let the BMS learn the motor's inrush profile before you apply full torque.

Tool bogs or loses power under sustained circular saw load

Sustained high-draw cuts — ripping thick timber or cutting sheet metal — push both the motor and cells to generate heat simultaneously inside a compact housing. When cell temperature climbs, internal resistance rises and rail voltage sags, which the tool's controller reads as low power. If the saw bogs mid-cut, stop and let the pack cool for five minutes before continuing. Check the battery terminal contacts for oxidation or debris; a dirty contact increases resistance and accelerates sag — clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry before reinserting the pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LUX-TOOLS charger blinks red and won't accept the new 36V pack — what's wrong?

A pack that's been in storage can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold, typically around 25–28V on a 36V system. The charger sees the low cell voltage and refuses to start a full charge cycle as a safety measure. Some chargers have a recovery or "boost" mode — check the manual for a slow-charge or reconditioning function and activate it. If the charger has no recovery mode, a compatible 36V charger with a lower acceptance threshold can bring the pack back up to a voltage the original charger will recognise.

The drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — pack seems fine otherwise.

This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current exceeding the pack's programmed threshold. It's not a faulty battery — it's the BMS protecting the cells from a spike it hasn't yet profiled. Run two cycles at light load first: trigger short bursts at low resistance before moving to full-torque applications. After those cycles, the BMS will have mapped the motor's inrush signature and the cutoff threshold adjusts accordingly.

The 36V pack loses noticeable power in cold weather — is something wrong with the cells?

Nothing is wrong. Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which causes voltage sag under load even when the pack is fully charged. The tool's controller interprets the voltage drop as a low-charge condition and reduces output. Store the battery indoors at room temperature before use in cold conditions — starting with a warm pack keeps internal resistance low during the first cuts. If output remains weak after the pack warms up, check rail contacts for oxidation and clean with isopropyl alcohol.
