Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LUX-TOOLS A-36LI/38 H — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (36LB2600)
This is a 36V 5000mAh (180Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the LUX-TOOLS A-36LI/38 H cordless power tool platform. It replaces OEM part 36LB2600 and fits directly into the same battery bay. Use it with drills, impact drivers, saws, and other tools in the A-36LI/38 H lineup.
- A-36LI/38 H platform fit: These tools share the same 36V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The replacement pack carries the same voltage rail and handshake logic, so the tool's electronics recognise it as a valid power source without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge runs on a 36V load rig, monitoring cell balance and BMS cutoff response. The BMS held overcurrent protection within expected thresholds across repeated trigger-pull simulations and sustained load draws.
- Motor inrush break-in on first use: Run the tool at half load for two cycles before pushing it to maximum torque. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and calibrate its overcurrent protection thresholds before you hit peak demand.
BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in the A-36LI/38 H
When you pull the trigger on a saw or drill under load, the motor draws a short but sharp inrush current — often several times the steady-state draw. A fresh pack with an uncalibrated BMS can read that spike as a fault and cut power immediately. The BMS on this cell pack sets its overcurrent threshold after observing a few real load cycles. If cutouts happen on trigger pull during early use, two or three half-load cycles will allow the BMS to widen its trip threshold to match the motor's actual inrush profile.
Tool bogs under sustained load after the battery reads full
A battery that shows fully charged but loses speed under sustained cutting or drilling is showing voltage sag — the cell voltage drops under load faster than the fuel gauge tracks it. The most common cause on 36V tool packs is high contact resistance at the rail connector, not cell failure. Clean the battery terminals and tool contacts with isopropyl alcohol, then check the rail voltage under load with a multimeter — it should stay above 32V during normal operation. If it drops below 30V under moderate load, the contact surface or the cells themselves need closer inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LUX-TOOLS A-36LI/38 H cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on a full cut — is the new battery faulty?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The motor-start inrush current spikes sharply the moment the blade or bit bites into material, and a new pack's BMS may flag that spike as a fault before it has profiled the motor's real draw. Run two or three half-load cycles — light drilling or shallow cuts — and the BMS will adjust its overcurrent threshold. If the cutout stops after those break-in cycles, the pack is functioning correctly.
The charger won't recognise this new 36V pack — the indicator just blinks without starting a charge cycle. What's happening?
After storage, cell voltage can drop below the threshold the charger uses to confirm a valid pack is connected. Most 36V Li-ion chargers require the pack to sit at or above roughly 25–27V before they will start a charge cycle. Leave the pack connected to the charger for 10–15 minutes — some chargers include a trickle pre-charge circuit that will nudge the cells up to acceptance voltage. If the charger still won't engage, measure the pack's open-circuit voltage at the terminals; anything below 25V means the cells need a recovery charge from a compatible bench charger before normal charging can begin.
The A-36LI/38 H loses noticeable power on cold mornings even with a charged battery — is this a defect?
Cold weather is not a defect — it is a chemistry behaviour. Lithium-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which increases voltage sag under load and makes the pack feel weaker than it does at room temperature. Store the battery indoors overnight and fit it to the tool just before use. At the worksite, keep a spare pack in a jacket pocket or tool bag between uses — body-temperature storage is enough to keep internal resistance low and maintain usable power output through the session.
