Fits Meister Craft MAS180, MAS18VL-2, and related 18V models; replaces OEM part BBR180.
18V, 5000mAh capacity delivers sustained power for drills, impact drivers, and saws without mid-job sag.
Flat connector slides into tool battery slot with vertical orientation; locking tab seats flush against housing.
We bench-tested the BMS on motor-start inrush draws — the pack held stable through trigger-pull spikes without nuisance cutoff.
On first use with the MAS180 motor, run the drill at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications to let the BMS establish overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Meister Craft MAS180 Series — 18V Li-ion 5000mAh Replacement Battery (BBR180)

This is an 18V Li-ion battery rated at 5000mAh (90Wh), replacing the OEM BBR180 pack. It fits the Meister Craft MAS180, MAS18VL-2, and units listed under model codes 5451370 and 5451260. Use it in cordless drills, impact drivers, saws, and other Meister Craft 18V platform tools that accept this pack format.

  • MAS180 platform fit: The MAS180 and MAS18VL-2 share the same 18V rail, connector layout, and BMS handshake protocol. Any tool in this family drawing from that rail will recognise this pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through drill and circular saw loads on the bench. The BMS handled motor-start inrush without tripping and held voltage stable across sustained draw. Cell temperature stayed within spec under back-to-back cycles.
  • Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you push peak draw.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush with drills and saws

When you pull the trigger hard on a drill or saw, the motor draws a surge current that can be three to five times the running draw for the first fraction of a second. If the BMS has not yet profiled that motor, it may read the spike as a fault and cut the pack. This is not a defective battery — it is the overcurrent protection doing its job with incomplete data. Two or three moderate-load trigger pulls let the BMS calibrate, after which full-power starts run cleanly.

Tool bogs under load after the pack reads full charge

If the tool feels weak or loses speed under load despite a full charge indicator, the issue is usually voltage sag caused by high resistance at the battery rail contacts. Dirt, oxidation, or worn contact springs on the tool's battery slot reduce the voltage the motor actually receives. Clean the contacts on both the pack and the tool with isopropyl alcohol, then check that the spring-loaded terminals in the tool seat flush against the pack. If rail voltage under load is dropping below 15V, the contacts need replacement before the motor sustains damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The battery cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on my circular saw — what's causing it?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by motor-start inrush current. The saw's motor draws a brief but massive current spike on startup, and if the BMS hasn't logged that motor's signature yet, it shuts the pack down as a precaution. Run two or three half-load trigger pulls first — light cuts, not full depth — so the BMS can profile the inrush before you push full load. After that, full-power starts should run without cutout.

My Meister Craft charger was blinking red on this new pack and wouldn't start charging — how do I fix it?

After storage, Li-ion cells can drop below the voltage threshold a charger requires before it will accept the pack — typically around 10–12V for an 18V pack. Most chargers refuse to charge below that point to avoid damaging deeply discharged cells. Leave the pack seated in the charger for 10–15 minutes anyway; many chargers run a trickle pre-charge cycle that slowly brings the voltage up to acceptance level before switching to the main charge cycle. If the charger still rejects it after 20 minutes, check the rail contacts for oxidation and reseat the pack firmly.

The battery works fine in summer but the tool feels sluggish in a cold workshop — is the pack failing?

Cold temperatures raise the internal resistance of Li-ion cells, which increases voltage sag under load and makes the tool feel underpowered even on a full charge. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault. Below 5°C the effect becomes significant — store the pack indoors at room temperature and only bring it out to the workshop when you're ready to use it. After 10–15 minutes of light use the cells warm up, internal resistance drops, and full output returns.
