Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MDKMed ME11 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JL18650-3S1P)
This is an 11.1V 2600mAh (28.86Wh) lithium-ion battery for the MDKMed ME11 portable medical device. It replaces OEM part JL18650-3S1P and restores power to units where the original cell has degraded or failed. Dimensions are 69.80 × 55.70 × 19.10mm — verify against your existing pack before installation.
- ME11 platform fit: The ME11 uses an 11.1V three-cell series pack in a fixed form factor. This replacement matches that cell configuration and connector, so the BMS can communicate with the host device normally. Any voltage deviation from 11.1V nominal will cause the device to flag a battery error on startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge-discharge cycle on a medical-grade cell analyser. The BMS responded correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and full-charge termination. Capacity measured at rated spec across three consecutive cycles.
- First-use self-test requirement: After installation, allow the ME11 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot. Let the self-test finish before connecting to any patient or clinical workflow.
Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The ME11 runs a BMS handshake during boot to verify cell voltage, internal resistance, and chemistry match. A new cell straight from storage may sit at a resting voltage the device interprets as partially depleted, causing the boot sequence to stall or loop. Charge the replacement pack fully before the first installation — do not insert it directly from the packaging and expect a clean boot. Once the pack reaches 12.6V at full charge, the handshake completes without errors.
Charge indicator stuck below 100% on first charge
On the first charge cycle, the ME11's charge IC applies a conservative current limit while it characterises the new cell. This causes the indicator to plateau at 90–95% and appear to stall. The cell is still accepting charge — the IC has not terminated. Allow the charge session to complete fully without interrupting it. After one full charge-discharge cycle, the indicator will reach 100% normally on subsequent charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ME11 is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the new battery for two hours — what's happening?
The ME11's BMS uses a stored capacity threshold calibrated to the original OEM cell chemistry. A new replacement cell needs one complete charge-discharge cycle before the BMS accepts its state-of-charge readings as valid. Until that cycle runs, the device may trigger a low battery alarm even at near-full voltage. Run one full charge to termination, then discharge through normal use, and the alarm should clear on the next charge.
The ME11 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months — is the battery dead?
Self-discharge over several months can pull the pack below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack — and the BMS locks out to prevent deep-discharge damage. Place the battery on charge immediately and leave it connected for a minimum of four hours without interruption. If the charge LED activates and holds, the BMS has recovered the cell. If nothing happens after four hours, check the terminal voltage with a multimeter — below 8V means the pack has discharged past recovery.
The ME11 is shutting off unexpectedly during use after I installed the replacement — it's not a low battery alarm, it just cuts out.
New lithium-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 charge cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the ME11's operating load. The BMS reads that sag as an undervoltage condition and cuts power to protect the cell — even if the pack is nominally charged. This is not a fault with the battery. Continue cycling the pack through normal charge-discharge use over the next 5–10 sessions and the internal resistance will drop as the cell forms. Unexpected cutoffs should stop occurring once the pack is broken in past the initial cycle count.
