Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mechrevo 16 Pro / Code 01 2022 Edition — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SSBS81)
This is an 11.55V, 6050mAh (69.88Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Mechrevo 16 Pro laptop lineup. It fits the 16 Pro, 16HD-5BB6U, 16HDS-7BB6U, Code 01 2022 Edition, and Code 10 models. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or fails to power the machine away from an outlet.
- 16 Pro and Code series compatibility: These models share the same 11.55V three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, SSBS81 connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the entire group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Mechrevo 16 Pro unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination triggered correctly at 100%, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at low-voltage cutoff.
- BIOS learn cycle after installation: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under normal load, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This forces the BIOS fuel gauge IC to re-calibrate against the new cell chemistry and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why the Mechrevo 16 Pro shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The shutdown happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using capacity data from the old, degraded cell. Under full CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the stale model predicts, and the system hits the low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a fault in the new cell. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging completely between each, and the gauge model will align with the new cell's actual voltage curve.
BIOS shows 0% or "battery unknown" immediately after fitting the new cell
This is an EEPROM state issue — the system management controller is still reading authentication or capacity data written by the original cell. The laptop has not yet completed a handshake with the new cell's BMS. Power the unit fully off, remove AC power for 30 seconds, then reconnect AC and boot without pressing any keys. If the 0% reading persists after one full charge cycle, enter BIOS setup, navigate to the battery information screen, and confirm voltage is reading approximately 11.55V — a live voltage reading confirms the cell is communicating correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Mechrevo 16 Pro fuel gauge jumps around wildly — showing 60%, then 40%, then 80% within minutes. Is the new battery faulty?
The gauge IC uses a learned capacity model to estimate state of charge, and after a cell swap it is still running the old model. The jumps reflect the mismatch between the old model's voltage-to-capacity curve and the new cell's actual curve — not a defect in the cell itself. Run two full cycles: discharge to hibernate cutoff under normal laptop use, then charge uninterrupted to 100% each time. After the second cycle the gauge IC will have enough data to lock onto the new cell's curve and the readings will stabilise.
The Mechrevo 16 Pro BIOS shows the wrong Wh rating — it says 65Wh but the replacement cell is 69.88Wh. Should I be concerned?
The Wh figure shown in BIOS is read from the EEPROM on the battery controller, which stores the rated capacity value written at the factory. The new cell's EEPROM holds the rated specification for SSBS81 as sourced, while your BIOS may cache the previous cell's value until it completes a full learn cycle. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted recharge. After that cycle, re-check the BIOS battery screen — the reported Wh figure should update to reflect the new cell's EEPROM data at approximately 69.88Wh.
The replacement cell on my Mechrevo 16 Pro stops charging at 80% and will not go higher. Is there a fix?
Mechrevo ships some BIOS versions with a charge limit feature enabled by default — it caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in sessions. This is a firmware setting, not a fault in the battery. Enter BIOS setup on boot (typically Delete or F2), navigate to the Battery or Power Management section, and look for a "Battery Charge Limit" or "Conservation Mode" toggle. Disable it, save, and reboot — the cell will then charge to 100%.
