Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion MD9021 / MD9035 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SB-L110)
This is a 7.4V, 1400mAh Li-ion cell built to the SB-L110 specification for Medion digital cameras. It fits the MD9021, MD9021n, MD9035, MD9035n, and compatible variants in the same series. Voltage and capacity match OEM figures drawn from the product data — not approximated.
- MD9021 and MD9035 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, contact layout, and 7.4V supply rail. One cell format covers both, including the "n" suffix variants, because the BMS handshake and connector pinout are identical across that production run.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the MD9021 body and an OEM-compatible charger. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held charge termination at the correct voltage, and showed stable draw across still capture and video recording modes.
- First-install charge cycle on the MD9021: Seat the new cell in the camera body and run one full charge through the camera's own charging circuit before shooting. Some Medion BMS firmware calibrates the battery-remaining indicator against the first charge cycle it records — skipping this can cause the display to read inaccurately from the first session onward.
Flash recycling lag on a new SB-L110 cell
The MD9021's built-in flash draws a sharp current spike to recharge its capacitor between shots. A new cell that hasn't completed a full charge cycle can show slightly elevated internal resistance in the first few uses, which causes the capacitor to recharge more slowly than expected. This shows up as a longer-than-normal ready indicator delay between flash frames. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and recycling speed normalises. If lag persists beyond that, check the cell is reaching a full 8.4V at charge termination.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the MD9021 display
The MD9021 maps its battery indicator against a fixed voltage-threshold curve calibrated to the original cell's discharge profile. A replacement cell with a slightly different discharge curve hits those thresholds at different points, so the indicator can jump — for example, from 60% to 30% with no heavy use in between. This is a display calibration issue, not a cell fault. Running two full charge-discharge cycles in the camera body allows the BMS to re-map its readings against the actual discharge curve of the new cell. After that, the percentage steps should track more evenly across the discharge range.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Medion MD9021 shows a dead battery icon immediately after fitting the new SB-L110 — is the cell faulty?
This usually means the camera's BMS hasn't authenticated the new cell yet, not that the cell is dead. Place it in the charger or seat it in the camera body and run a full charge from zero before powering the camera on for shooting. One complete charge cycle is typically enough for the MD9021 to accept the replacement cell and clear the false-empty indicator. If the icon persists after a full charge, confirm the cell reached 8.4V at termination before ruling out a charger issue.
The MD9021 shot count is noticeably lower than I expected from a 1400mAh cell — what's drawing it down?
Shot count figures in camera specs assume minimal flash use, no continuous autofocus, and short review times — the MD9021 running flash on every shot, extended live-view, or video clips draws significantly more than that baseline. Flash capacitor recharging alone adds a burst of current after each shot that the rated figure doesn't fully account for. To get the most accurate picture of actual capacity, run the cell without flash for a session and compare. If capacity still seems low after three full cycles, measure open-circuit voltage immediately after a full charge — it should read at or above 8.3V.
The MD9021 body feels noticeably warm during sustained video recording on the new battery — is that a cell problem?
Warmth during video is almost always the camera body, not the cell. Sustained video on the MD9021 runs the image sensor, processor, and storage write circuits continuously, generating heat that conducts into the battery bay. The cell itself will be slightly warmer than during still shooting due to the higher continuous current draw, but that's normal. If the cell itself is hot to the touch after removal — not just warm — check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact, as a high-resistance connection causes localised heating at the cell terminals.
