Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion MD95132 / MIM2060 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40011708)
This is a 14.8V, 2200mAh (32.56Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Medion MD95132, MD95131, and MIM2060 notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers including 40011708, BP-8011, and 4009657. Fits machines where the original cell has degraded or no longer holds a usable charge.
- MD95132 / MD95131 / MIM2060 platform: These three models share the same 14.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all three without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the MIM2060 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the system board, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage, and the fuel gauge reported state-of-charge without error flags.
- First-cycle reset on Medion notebooks: After installing, run one full discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that commonly appears after swapping cells on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after installation
The Medion BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers embedded in the battery pack. When a new cell is installed, those registers contain factory defaults that do not match the BIOS's learned discharge history from the old pack. The system flags this mismatch as a health warning — not a fault with the new cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted full charge allows the BIOS to rewrite its learned data against the new cell. After one or two cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The displayed percentage is based on old discharge data, so the system underestimates how close the cell is to its voltage floor under full CPU and display load. When draw spikes — processor burst, screen brightness peak — cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS triggers an emergency cutoff. Complete two full discharge-to-cutoff and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. After calibration, the fuel gauge tracks the actual voltage curve and the premature shutdowns stop. Check that the reported percentage at shutdown is above 15V cell pack voltage — if it is, the calibration cycle is working.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Medion MD95132 shows the battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows immediately after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?
This is an EEPROM mismatch, not a faulty cell. The new battery pack carries factory EEPROM data that the Windows fuel gauge driver does not recognise until it completes a learn cycle. Plug the laptop in, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then run it down to hibernate cutoff on battery. After one full cycle the fuel gauge driver maps correctly to the new cell and the reading normalises.
Windows is reporting this battery as 32Wh but the BIOS shows a different Wh figure — which one is correct?
The BIOS reads the Wh rating stored in the battery pack's EEPROM, which reflects the OEM-programmed nominal value. Windows reads the same EEPROM data but may display it differently depending on the power management driver version installed. The actual rated capacity for this cell is 32.56Wh — if either figure deviates significantly from that, update the Medion power management driver and run a full discharge cycle to let the system recalculate from live cell data.
The replacement battery charges to 80% then stops — the charging indicator light goes off and Windows says "plugged in, not charging."
This is a BIOS-controlled charge threshold, not a battery fault. Some Medion notebook BIOS versions ship with a charge limit enabled by default to reduce cell wear during extended mains use. Enter the BIOS setup (F2 at boot on most MD-series units), locate the battery or power management section, and disable the charge limit or set the ceiling to 100%. Save and reboot — the cell will then charge to full.
