Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

WinBook W200 / W235 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40011708)
This is a 14.8V, 2200mAh (32.56Wh) Li-ion battery for the WinBook W200 and W235 notebook computers. It replaces OEM part numbers 40011708, BP-8011, and the full 442685400xxx series. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or the laptop won't run unplugged.
- W200 and W235 compatibility: Both models share the same 14.8V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits both without any adapter or firmware workaround.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS trip conditions on W200 hardware. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and over-current events at each stage.
- First-cycle calibration on the W200: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the BIOS fuel gauge IC a reference curve against the new cell and clears the false "poor health" flag that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting the new cell
The W200 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery's protection board. When a new cell arrives, those registers haven't been written by this specific laptop's charge controller yet. The BIOS compares the stored cycle count and capacity data against its own records and flags a mismatch as poor health. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the controller rewrite the registers and clear the warning.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage-cliff problem, not a fuel gauge error. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the OS gauge tracks — the laptop hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff while the screen still reads 20–25%. The fuel gauge IC needs two or three full calibration cycles before its discharge curve matches the new cell's actual voltage profile. Run the battery down to hibernate cutoff, charge fully to 100%, and repeat — the shutdowns move progressively later in the discharge curve as calibration improves.

Frequently Asked Questions
The WinBook W200 is showing "0% available (plugged in, charging)" after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
The fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed. The controller is reading EEPROM registers that no longer match the new cell's chemistry. Let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff — the gauge recalibrates against the new cell on that first full cycle. After one complete cycle the percentage reading stabilises.
System information on my W200 is showing the wrong Wh rating for the replacement battery — is the cell faulty?
It's not a fault. The Wh value in system info is pulled from static EEPROM data on the battery's protection board, and it reflects the rated chemistry specification rather than a live measurement. The actual usable energy of this cell is 32.56Wh at 14.8V and 2200mAh. If the displayed figure differs from that, run one full calibration cycle — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — and the controller will update the value it reports to the OS.
My W200 charges fine but the battery percentage jumps around wildly during use — 60% one minute, 35% the next. What causes that?
The fuel gauge IC maps voltage readings to percentage using a discharge curve learned from the previous cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance throws off that curve, causing the gauge to misread voltage drops under load as large capacity drops. This settles after two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles. By the third cycle the gauge IC has enough data points to track the new cell's voltage curve accurately.
