Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kohjinsha SH6 / SH8 / SR8 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NBATZZ04)
This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Kohjinsha SH6, SH8, SR8, and L500X subnotebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers NBATZZ04 and NBP3A61. It fits the compact chassis common across these Japanese-market ultraportable models.
- SH6, SH8, SR8, and L500X compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 11.1V power rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the series, so the replacement communicates correctly with each system board without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SH6 platform. The BMS reported state-of-charge correctly, charge termination triggered at full capacity, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under over-discharge conditions.
- First-cycle calibration on the SH6: After fitting this replacement, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The SH6 BIOS uses a battery learn cycle to calibrate its fuel gauge IC against the new cell. Skipping this step leaves the health indicator showing inaccurate data from the previous battery's EEPROM values.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
The SH6 BIOS stores historical charge data in EEPROM and carries it forward after a cell swap. A new cell with no charge history triggers a "poor health" or "unknown battery" flag because the firmware is comparing the new cell against degraded baseline data it recorded from the old one. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to force the learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. At light load the cell voltage reads within range, but under combined CPU and display draw the voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge predicts, triggering a hard shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a defective cell. Complete two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted recharge cycles. After calibration, the gauge tracks the actual voltage cliff correctly and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SH6 BIOS shows "0% available (plugged in, charging)" and never moves — is the new cell faulty?
This is an EEPROM mismatch, not a cell fault. The BIOS is reading cached state-of-charge data from the old battery and has not yet accepted the new cell's values. Plug in the AC adapter, leave it connected for a full uninterrupted charge cycle, then discharge to hibernate-cutoff once. That forces the firmware to rewrite the EEPROM baseline against the replacement cell and the percentage will start tracking correctly.
System information shows the battery Wh rating as 40Wh when the replacement is rated 48.84Wh — why is it wrong?
The Wh figure displayed in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell, which may carry a factory-programmed rated value from a different cell configuration rather than the actual chemistry installed. The physical capacity of this cell is 48.84Wh as measured on the bench. The discrepancy is a stored data value, not a capacity shortfall — the cell delivers its full charge regardless of what the system info panel reports.
After two weeks the SH6 battery drains noticeably faster sitting closed on the desk overnight — is that normal?
A charged lithium-ion cell in a suspended or powered-off laptop will self-discharge slowly, but the SH6's standby draw through the board can accelerate this if the system is set to sleep rather than hibernate. Check that the lid-close action is mapped to hibernate, not sleep — sleep maintains a small continuous draw that compounds over days. If the cell drops below 3.0V per cell (9.0V pack total) during extended storage, the BMS may enter deep-discharge lockout, and you will need to connect AC power and hold the power button for 10 seconds to re-initialise the charge circuit before the cell will accept a charge again.
