Fits MeiZu M681C, M681Q, and Meilan Note 3 smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number BT61-A.
3.85V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge cycles on devices showing 20–30% sudden shutdowns or fuel gauge drift.
Connector seats into the internal battery slot with standard smartphone latch orientation; no adapter needed for direct swap.
We bench-tested this cell on M681C firmware; BMS accepted charge without fault codes, and the coulomb counter tracked capacity accurately through two full cycles.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu M3 Note / Meilan Note 3 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT61-A)

This is a 3.85V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the MeiZu M681C, M681Q, Meilan Note 3, and M3 Note smartphones. It replaces OEM part number BT61-A. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 4000mAh (15.4Wh).

  • M681C, M681Q, Meilan Note 3, M3 Note compatibility: These models share the same BT61-A battery footprint, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake and charge IC parameters are consistent across this platform, so one cell fits all listed variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the M3 Note platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge within the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BT61-A replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load before the OS expects it. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold. One full discharge-to-cutoff followed by a full charge corrects the calibration — after that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging not working after fitting a new BT61-A

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may not negotiate MeiZu's proprietary fast-charge protocol with the new BMS. This is normal — the controller defaults to standard 5V input while it characterises the new cell. Let the first cycle complete at standard rate without interruption. Fast-charge negotiation typically resumes from the second cycle onward once the BMS has logged a full charge session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MeiZu M3 Note shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new BT61-A — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old cell, so it misreads remaining voltage under modem and screen load. The new cell hits the BMS voltage floor before the OS expects it. Run one full discharge to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I be concerned?

This is expected on the first two to three cycles. The charge IC on the M3 Note applies the same current profile it used on the aged original cell, but the new BT61-A has higher impedance out of storage, so more energy converts to heat during the initial charge sessions. Warmth drops off as the cell's internal resistance settles after a few full cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or triggers a charge-stop warning, let it cool to room temperature and retry — that indicates the charge IC has throttled back, not a defective cell.

The MeiZu M681C won't power on at all after the BT61-A sat in storage before installation — how do I recover it?

A cell stored below roughly 2.5V per cell triggers BMS lockout, and the phone will show no response to the power button or charging cable. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes. If the screen shows a low-battery icon within that window, the recovery is working.
