Fits Microtracker SMS GPS navigator, replaces OEM battery 01-065-0624-0 and 01-065-0625-0.
3.7V lithium-ion at 1050mAh delivers 3.89Wh — enough for continuous GPS tracking on active navigation before recharge needed.
Connector seats straight into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; orientation marked on device housing.
We ran a full charge cycle on the bench — BMS held voltage stable through discharge, no early cutoff detected.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Microtracker SMS / GPRS — 3.7V Li-ion 1050mAh Replacement Battery

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Microtracker SMS and GPRS portable GPS trackers, including hardware revisions 01-065-0624-0 and 01-065-0625-0. Capacity is 1050mAh (3.89Wh), matching the original specification. It fits the same physical cavity and uses the same connector orientation as the factory cell.

  • SMS, GPRS, and revision variants: These four model numbers share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and identical battery bay dimensions — 51.10 × 34.49 × 5.40mm. The BMS handshake and connector pinout are consistent across all four, so one cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GPS platform and confirmed the BMS accepts the cell without fault codes. Cutoff voltage at low state-of-charge triggered cleanly at the expected threshold with no premature shutoff.
  • Cold-start procedure after fitting: A full power interruption resets the GPS receiver to cold-start mode. After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before moving — first fix can take 5 to 10 minutes, compared to under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery charge runs low

Some GPS receivers step down radio-frequency sensitivity as supply voltage drops toward the lower cutoff threshold. On the Microtracker SMS platform, this presents as position drift or a wider accuracy circle on-screen before the unit shuts off. The receiver trades signal acquisition strength for power conservation. Keep the cell above 3.6V under load if positional accuracy is critical during active tracking.

Device shuts off without a low-battery warning

After a full battery swap, the on-device fuel gauge has no calibration data for the new cell. The unit reads state-of-charge from a stored voltage curve, and that curve can be misaligned on the first few cycles. The protection circuit hits the hard voltage cutoff before the visual indicator catches up, so the device goes dark with no warning. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles to let the gauge re-anchor to the new cell — after that, the low-battery indicator triggers at the correct threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Microtracker SMS lost all saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Microtracker SMS stores route and POI data in battery-backed RAM on some hardware revisions — a full power removal wipes that volatile memory. Data held in flash storage survives the swap, but anything not committed to flash is gone. Before your next swap, export saved routes to a paired device or app if your firmware supports it.

Satellite lock is taking much longer than usual after fitting the new battery — what's happening?

A complete power interruption clears the receiver's almanac and ephemeris cache, forcing a cold start. Cold start on the Microtracker platform takes 5 to 10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view; warm starts after that run under a minute. Stand outside with the unit stationary until the fix indicator confirms lock — moving the device during acquisition extends the time further.

Active navigation drains this battery noticeably faster than standby tracking — why?

In active navigation mode, the GPS receiver polls satellites continuously and the display stays on at high brightness — both draw from the same 1050mAh cell simultaneously. Standby tracking reduces display output and lowers poll frequency, cutting draw significantly. Dimming the screen to the lowest usable brightness during navigation is the single most effective way to extend charge per session on this platform.
