Fits Magellan Thales MMCE, Thales CX, Promark 3, and other compatible models; replaces OEM part 111141, 37-LF033-001, or 980782.
3.7V, 3960mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for continuous GPS navigation and satellite tracking on your unit.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab secures pack against accidental ejection during field use.
We ran this cell through full discharge and recharge cycles on a Thales platform; BMS registered nominal voltage curve with no early cutoff.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Magellan Thales MMCE / MobileMapper Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (111141)

This 3.7V, 3960mAh Li-ion cell replaces part number 111141 in the Magellan Thales MMCE and related portable GPS navigators. It fits the Thales CX, Promark 3, Thales MobileMapper, and five additional models that share the same connector and voltage rail. Capacity is sourced from product data — 14.65Wh per cell.

  • Multi-model fit across the Thales GPS platform: The MMCE, CX, Promark 3, and MobileMapper lines share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same physical connector and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Thales platform unit. The BMS accepted charge from the OEM cradle without fault flags, held the voltage curve through full draw, and hit the low-voltage cutoff cleanly at the expected threshold.
  • Cold-start acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors before driving. The unit loses its ephemeris data on full power removal and performs a cold start — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is rebuilt.

GPS accuracy reduced when battery charge drops below 20%

Several Thales-platform GPS units step down receiver sensitivity as battery voltage falls to extend operating time. This pulls in fewer satellite signals and widens the position error radius. The device may still show a fix, but accuracy degrades noticeably. Keeping charge above 20% — roughly 3.6V under load — maintains full receiver gain.

Device shuts off without a low-battery warning after fitting a new cell

The battery indicator on Thales GPS units is calibrated to the charge curve of the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile can cause the fuel gauge to read incorrectly, so the unit hits its voltage cutoff threshold before the warning icon appears. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through the OEM cradle — this allows the gauge to re-calibrate against the actual discharge curve of the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Thales MMCE lost all my saved routes and POIs after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The MMCE stores routes and points of interest in RAM that relies on continuous battery power. A full power removal — which happens during a battery swap — wipes that memory. Re-enter your routes after fitting the new cell, or export them to a connected PC before you pull the old battery.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after the battery replacement, but it used to lock in seconds — what happened?

Removing the battery clears the stored ephemeris and almanac data the GPS uses for a fast warm start. Without that data, the receiver has to download a fresh almanac from satellites, which takes 5–10 minutes on a cold start. Leave the unit stationary with a clear sky view after first power-on — lock times return to under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt, typically after one or two full acquisitions.

The battery drains much faster when I'm actively navigating than when the unit is just sitting idle — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the display simultaneously, both at full draw. Standby pulls only background processes. The receiver alone accounts for a significant share of the load, and display brightness multiplies it further. Reduce screen brightness during navigation to lower total draw and extend the charge cycle.
