Fits Motorola CT150, CT250, CT450 and 55+ models; replaces HMNN4151, HMNN4154, HMNN4158, HMNN4159, HNN4001, HNN4003, HNN9008, HNN9009, HNN9010A, HNN9011R, HNN9012R, HNN9013, PMNN4017, PMNN4018, PMNN4020, PMNN4021, PMNN4045, PMNN4053, and related OEM pack numbers.
This 7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers enough capacity to sustain back-to-back transmissions on CT-series portables without mid-shift power drops that plague worn OEM packs.
Connector seats into the Motorola CT-series spring-loaded dock with the label facing the radio body; the locking tab engages flush with zero rattle or play once fully seated.
We bench-tested this pack on a CT250 with sustained PTT cycles at full RF output; the BMS held voltage above TX-cutoff threshold and showed no overcurrent faults during extended transmission sequences.
If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly—the Motorola platform needs a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola CT150 / CT250 / CT450 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HMNN4151)

This 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on Motorola CT150, CT250, CT450, and CT450LS two-way radios. It cross-references over 35 OEM part numbers including HMNN4151, HMNN4154, PMNN4017, and HNN9008. The CT series radios are compact portables used in security, retail, and hospitality environments where reliable shift-long communication is critical.

  • CT150 / CT250 / CT450 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay footprint, connector pinout, and 7.4V voltage rail. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the CT series, so one pack covers all three variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the CT450 dock. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at both ends and showed no false overcurrent trips under simulated PTT transmit current draw.
  • First insertion into the charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The CT series charger requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Why the CT450 drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new battery

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V per cell — not at full charge. Under sustained RF output, the radio's voltage regulation circuit sees marginal headroom and steps down transmit power to protect the transceiver. This is not a faulty pack. A full charge cycle before field deployment puts both cells above 4.1V and gives the radio the headroom it needs to hold rated TX power through a full shift.

Bar indicator shows one fewer bar than expected after inserting new pack

The CT series uses voltage-threshold bar indicators, not a fuel gauge chip. Storage voltage on a fresh Li-ion pack sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one or two bars even on a brand-new battery. This clears after one full charge — the dock needs to bring each cell to at least 4.15V before the top bar threshold registers. Seat the battery in the dock and allow a complete charge cycle before reading the indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CT450 cuts out completely when I press PTT — is this the battery or the radio?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a radio fault. The transmit current spike on PTT can exceed the BMS protection threshold on a pack that shipped at storage voltage or one that has partially discharged below 7.0V under load. Fully charge the replacement battery before first use and test again. If the cutout persists on a fully charged pack, check that the battery contacts are seated flush — a partial connection raises resistance and amplifies the voltage sag on PTT.

The charger dock blinks a fault LED and never starts charging — the battery is brand new.

The CT series dock reads the BMS handshake through the contact strip before it commits to a charge cycle. If the contacts are slightly oxidised or misaligned from shipping, the dock cannot complete the handshake and throws a fault. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cotton swab, and reseat with firm downward pressure until you hear the click. The fault LED should clear within 10 seconds of a clean reseat.

This pack sat unused in a drawer for a few months — now the radio won't turn on at all.

Extended storage at low charge depletes Li-ion cells below the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.5V per cell. The BMS locks out to prevent damage, so the radio sees no voltage and will not power on. Place the pack in the CT charger dock for at least 4 hours without interruption — most Motorola CT docks apply a low-current recovery charge before entering full charge mode. If the dock accepts the pack and the charge LED activates, the BMS has cleared the lockout; let the full cycle complete before use.
