Fits Motorola DECT 6.0, IT6, IT6-2 handsets; replaces OEM part 61638C and SNN5904A.
3.7V, 230mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers adequate charge for full talk time and extended standby periods.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with positive contact first; locking tab secures pack flush.
We bench-tested the BMS on a DECT 6.0 base — voltage stayed stable across call cycles, no early cutoff observed.
After installation, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; lithium-polymer packs reach rated capacity faster than NiMH but benefit from a slow initial charge to establish BMS calibration.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola DECT 6.0 / IT6 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (61638C / SNN5904A)

This is a 3.7V, 230mAh lithium-polymer battery for Motorola cordless phone handsets. It fits the DECT 6.0, IT6, IT6-2, and Motoactv models. When the original cell degrades and the handset won't hold charge, this is the direct swap to restore the handset without replacing the whole phone.

  • DECT 6.0 and IT6 platform fit: These handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.7V charging circuit. One cell fits all models listed. No adapter needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the base station's charge circuit and confirmed the protection IC accepts charge at the standard 4.2V cutoff without triggering an error state on the base unit.
  • First charge after installation: Li-polymer cells ship partially charged for transport safety. After installing, seat the handset in the base and let it charge uninterrupted until the charge indicator clears — this allows the cell to reach rated capacity from a stable, controlled charge cycle.

Talk time shorter than expected after battery swap

A new li-polymer cell at 230mAh won't always perform to rated capacity on the first cycle. The cell needs two to three full charge-and-discharge cycles before the electrodes stabilise and capacity reaches its rated level. If talk time is still noticeably short after three cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the cradle — a loose connection means the base charges at a reduced current or not at all. The charge LED on the base is the clearest indicator: steady means full contact, flashing or absent means reseat the handset.

Handset not pairing with base after battery replacement

Removing the battery on some DECT phones clears the handset's registration with the base. The handset powers up but shows no line or fails to ring. To re-pair, hold the page/find button on the base for five seconds until the base beeps, then follow the handset's registration prompt — usually accessed under Settings or by holding a softkey. Once registered, the handset stores the pairing in non-volatile memory and won't lose it again from normal battery swaps.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Motorola DECT 6.0 handset drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this the battery?

If the handset is losing charge while docked, the most common cause is poor contact between the handset charging pins and the base cradle — the cell is drawing standby current but not receiving charge to offset it. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset firmly until it clicks or sits flat. If the base charge LED then shows steady, the handset will hold charge overnight without issue.

The base station shows no charge light at all after I installed the new battery — what's wrong?

A freshly installed li-polymer cell can sit below the voltage threshold the base expects before it initiates a charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly — this resets the base's charge detection circuit. If the light still doesn't appear, check that the battery connector is fully clicked down inside the handset before closing the cover, as a partial connection reads as no cell present to the charge circuit.

The handset range dropped noticeably after I swapped the battery — calls cut out further from the base than before.

DECT transmit power is drawn directly from the cell, and a new li-polymer battery that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle will sag under the RF load. Run two to three complete charge cycles — full charge in base, then use the handset until it prompts you to return it — and range typically recovers to normal as the cell reaches stable capacity. If range is still poor after three cycles, confirm the replacement cell is seated flat with no gap forcing the handset cover to bow, which can slightly shift the antenna position.
