Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ascom i62 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (5530000102)
This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion battery for the Ascom i62 cordless DECT handset. It fits the i62, i62 Messenger, i62 Protector, and i62 Talker. Swap it when the original pack no longer holds a charge across a full shift.
- i62 series compatibility: All i62 variants share the same battery bay, connector orientation, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS handshake is identical across the Messenger, Protector, and Talker — one pack covers the full lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the i62 platform. The BMS accepted charge without error, held voltage through RF transmit load, and showed no cutoff under normal DECT handset draw.
- First charge on the i62: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing this pack. Leave it on charge for a full 16 hours before the first active use. Li-ion cells ship partially discharged, and the i62 base charger uses a trickle rate — a full overnight cycle ensures the cell reaches rated capacity before you take it off the cradle.
Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new i62 battery
A new Li-ion cell does not always deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The electrochemical layers need two to three full charge-discharge cycles before the cell stabilises at 900mAh. If talk time feels short in the first few days, run the handset down to the low-battery warning, return it to the base for a full overnight charge, and repeat. By the third cycle, capacity should match the original spec.
i62 handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement
Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the radio module, and some i62 units drop their pairing registration when this happens. The handset will show as unregistered on the base or system console. To restore pairing, hold the registration button on the base station until the LED flashes, then initiate re-registration from the handset menu. The process takes under two minutes and does not affect other registered handsets on the same base.

Frequently Asked Questions
My i62 handset shows a low battery warning within a couple of hours even though I just installed a new battery — is the pack faulty?
It is not faulty. A fresh Li-ion cell ships at around 30–50% state of charge, and the i62 base charger uses a slow trickle rate. If you started using the handset before the first full charge cycle was complete, the cell was not yet at full capacity. Place the handset back in the base for a continuous 16-hour charge, then run it through two more full discharge-and-charge cycles. Talk time should stabilise at rated capacity by the third cycle.
The base station charge light stays red or keeps flashing after I fitted the new battery — why won't it accept the charge?
A Li-ion cell that has dropped below roughly 2.5V during storage can sit outside the base station's acceptance window, causing a charge fault or persistent error light. We've seen this on units that have been warehoused for several months. Some i62 base stations will recover the pack automatically with a brief trickle pre-charge — leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for 30 minutes. If the fault light clears, the pre-charge worked and normal charging will continue. If it does not clear after 30 minutes, check that the handset is fully seated and the contacts are clean.
My i62 feels like it loses range or audio quality drops near the edge of the coverage area after the battery swap — was this fine before?
DECT transmit power draws more current than standby, and if the battery voltage sags under that RF load, the handset may reduce transmit power or drop signal at range boundaries. This is most noticeable in the first few charge cycles before the cell has reached stable capacity. Run two or three full charge cycles as described above. If range is still reduced after conditioning, check the handset contacts against the base cradle — a poor contact causes the same voltage sag symptom and is easy to overlook after reassembly.
