Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Moto One Hyper (XT2027 Series) — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KG50)
This 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the OEM KG50 battery in the Motorola Moto One Hyper. It fits the XT2027, XT2027-1, and XT2027-2 variants. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a charge or drops voltage unexpectedly under screen or modem load.
- XT2027 series fit: All XT2027 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The KG50 part number is consistent across the full lineup, so one cell covers all three sub-models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an XT2027-1 unit. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, thermal cutoff triggered correctly at the expected ceiling, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without flagging an error state.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging runs into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Moto One Hyper after a cell swap
The XT2027's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC's calibration no longer matches actual cell voltage under load. The modem and display together draw enough current to cause a brief voltage sag — if the IC reads that sag as the cutoff floor, it shuts the phone down even though charge remains. One full slow-charge cycle forces the IC to relearn the new cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve and eliminates the false shutdown.
USB-PD fast charging not activating on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the Moto One Hyper defaults to a conservative trickle current until it confirms the new cell's internal resistance is within range. On the first cycle, the BMS may reject the USB-PD handshake and fall back to standard 5V charging. This is a protection response, not a fault with the charger or the replacement cell. Completing one full standard charge cycle re-establishes the handshake, and fast charging activates normally from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Moto One Hyper shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve and misreads the voltage sag from the new cell as an empty state. It triggers a shutdown before the cell is actually depleted. Run one full discharge down to automatic power-off, then charge to 100% on a standard charger with fast charging disabled. After that single recalibration cycle, the shutdowns should stop.
The battery percentage on my XT2027 keeps jumping around erratically after the replacement — is the new cell faulty?
It's the coulomb counter, not the cell. The fuel gauge IC accumulated a history tied to the original cell and hasn't yet mapped the new one. Erratic percentage readings — jumping 5–10% in either direction — are normal until the IC runs a full discharge-to-charge cycle with the new cell installed. Charge the phone to 100% without interruption, use it down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% again. Readings stabilise after that cycle.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — how do I recover it?
A cell stored below roughly 2.5V triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone appears completely dead. Connect it to a known-good charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC delivers a low-current pre-charge to bring the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.
