Fits MTC 950 smartphone; replaces OEM battery SKU CS-HU8160XL for calls, messaging, and apps.
3.7V, 1300mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 4.81Wh — adequate for standard daily use on this form factor.
Connector type and locking tab match OEM housing; physical footprint is 54.00 x 43.00 x 5.00mm.
We bench-tested the BMS handshake on insertion; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without lockout or fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MTC 950 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the MTC 950 smartphone. It covers the full power draw for calls, messaging, and active app use. Dimensions are 54.00 × 43.00 × 5.00mm — confirm fitment against your existing cell before installation.

  • MTC 950 fit: This cell matches the voltage rail and physical footprint the MTC 950 mainboard expects. The connector orientation and BMS communication lines align with the stock charging IC, so the phone recognises the cell on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and monitored BMS handshake behaviour. The protection circuit held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold and accepted charge current without tripping into fault mode.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MTC 950 after a cell swap

This happens because the phone's fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under modem and screen load near the lower end of its charge window. The phone interprets that voltage sag as a dead battery and cuts power before the cell is actually empty. One full discharge cycle — letting the phone run down to auto-shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — lets the coulomb counter recalibrate to the new cell's actual curve.

Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges

A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the first two or three charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, generating more heat than usual. This is not a fault — impedance drops as the cell cycles. If the case stays warm beyond the third full charge, check that nothing is covering the phone during charging, and confirm the charger output matches the 5V rail the MTC 950 expects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my MTC 950 shutting off at 25% after I put in the new battery?

The fuel gauge IC on the MTC 950 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the new cell's voltage dips under modem or screen load near the lower charge window, the phone reads it as empty and cuts power. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The MTC 950 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

It's likely a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. When a Li-ion cell self-discharges below roughly 2.5V in storage, the protection circuit locks out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout and allow a normal boot.

The battery percentage on my MTC 950 is jumping around erratically — goes from 60% to 40% and back without any use.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a faulty cell. The IC's internal model of the battery's charge state was built around the old cell and doesn't match the new one's discharge characteristics yet. Let the phone discharge fully to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. The coulomb counter will anchor to the new cell's actual capacity and the percentage readings will stabilise.
