Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei U8150 / IDEOS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HB4J1)
This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replacing the OEM HB4J1 / HB4J1H battery in the Huawei U8150. It fits the IDEOS, C8500, and V845 lines, plus fourteen additional Huawei variants that share the same connector and BMS handshake. Capacity figures come from product data — 4.81Wh total.
- U8150 / IDEOS platform fit: These models share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture, a standardised connector pinout, and compatible BMS communication — so one cell covers the full range without any wiring modifications.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the U8150 platform. The BMS accepted charge on the first connection, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff without locking out the device.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On the first cycle after installation, run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it normally. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference curve against the new cell — skipping it causes percentage jumps for the first several cycles.
Why the U8150 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The U8150 uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model against the original cell's discharge curve. When you swap in a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches reality. The IC may report 40% when the cell is near empty, or show 100% before the charge cycle finishes. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted full charge forces the IC to rebuild its reference curve against the replacement cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem transmits or the screen backlight peaks — both events pull a short burst of high current that drops cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. The fix is the same full recalibration cycle: discharge to automatic shutdown, charge to 100% without interruption. After one clean cycle, the IC maps the voltage cliff correctly and stops triggering early shutdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powers on after I install the new battery, but the percentage jumps from 60% straight to 15% within a few minutes — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the U8150 is still running its state-of-charge estimate against the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage readings are unreliable until it recalibrates. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that single full cycle, the IC rebuilds its curve against the new cell and the readings stabilise.
My U8150 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS trips into lockout mode to prevent damage and blocks the phone from booting. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point the phone should boot normally. If the charger indicator never appears, try a different cable before assuming the cell is unrecoverable.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal with a new cell?
Some warmth during early charging cycles is expected with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a well-cycled one, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat until the cell has been through a few cycles. If the phone stays warm but not hot to the touch and cools down once charging completes, that is within normal range. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, check that the charger output matches the U8150 specification of 5V / 1A.
