Fits NEC Flexiphone 100 and Flexiphone 50 cordless handsets with no OEM part number listed.
3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage during active calls and wireless operation.
Slides into handset battery compartment with standard rectangular contact alignment and friction retention.
We ran full discharge cycles on a Flexiphone 100 base unit; BMS accepted voltage immediately without fault codes.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC Flexiphone 100 / Flexiphone 50 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the NEC Flexiphone 100 and Flexiphone 50 cordless handsets. It slots into the battery compartment and powers the handset during calls and standby when out of the base. Capacity is 600mAh (2.16Wh), matching the original pack.

  • Flexiphone 100 and 50 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH bay, connector orientation, and charge termination voltage. One battery fits both handsets.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible tester. The BMS accepted a full charge without thermal event and held voltage within the expected range across three consecutive cycles.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base cradle for a continuous 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones reach rated capacity through a slow initial charge — skipping this step leaves the pack under-formed and cuts apparent talk time short.

Base station showing no charge or error light with a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack has been sitting in a warehouse, its resting voltage can drop low enough that the base station's charge controller doesn't recognise it as a valid battery. The base expects to see a cell above roughly 1.0V per cell — at 3.0V total — before initiating a charge cycle. If the error light stays on, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and re-seat it firmly so the charge contacts close fully. If that doesn't clear it, a brief trickle from a compatible NiMH charger at 60mA for 15 minutes can raise the pack voltage enough for the base to accept it.

Range drops mid-call after installing a replacement battery

DECT handsets draw a burst of current every time the RF module transmits. A NiMH pack that hasn't been fully conditioned has higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under that transmit load. The handset interprets the sag as a low-battery state and reduces transmit power to protect the cell — shrinking range as a result. This typically resolves after three to five full charge-and-use cycles, which lower internal resistance and bring the pack to rated capacity. If range is still poor after five cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base each time — a poor contact connection produces a partial charge rather than a full one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is way shorter than the original battery — is the replacement faulty?

Almost certainly not — this is normal for NiMH cordless phone batteries in the first few cycles. A new NiMH cell ships partially discharged and needs three to five full charge-and-use cycles before it reaches its rated 600mAh capacity. Each cycle reduces internal resistance and lets the pack hold more charge. Run it through five complete cycles with a full 16-hour charge each time before drawing any conclusions about capacity.

The handset won't re-pair with the base after swapping the battery — what happened?

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power, and some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is lost. The handset effectively forgets it was registered to the base. To fix it, run the handset registration process from the base menu — usually found under Settings > Register Handset or equivalent on the Flexiphone base unit. You do not need to reset the base or re-register other handsets already paired to it.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — why?

This points to a contact seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the charge pins don't make consistent contact, and the handset runs on battery in standby instead of drawing from the base. Check that the handset clicks positively into the cradle and that the charge contacts on both the handset and base are clean and free of dust or oxidation. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth and re-seat the handset — the charge indicator light should come on within a few seconds of correct seating.
