Fits NEC N600 and N600i phones; replaces OEM battery N600.
3.7V, 900mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full charge capacity to this early-2000s compact smartphone.
Battery connects via internal contact pads; no external connector or locking mechanism on this form factor.
We bench-tested this cell in an N600 unit; BMS accepted charge without delay, voltage held steady under standby load.
On first power-up after installation, let the phone discharge fully to zero before recharging—the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve against the old battery's stored profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NEC N600 / N600i — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell for the NEC N600 and N600i mobile phones. It replaces the original battery when the cell can no longer hold enough charge for daily use. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • N600 and N600i compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. One cell fits either variant without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the N600 platform. The BMS held cutoff voltage cleanly at both the top and bottom of the charge curve, with no premature trips observed during the test sequence.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after fitting this cell, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging disabled if available. This gives the phone's fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

Early shutdowns at 20–30% are a fuel gauge calibration problem, not a faulty cell. The phone's coulomb counter is still referencing the discharge curve of the old, degraded battery. When the new cell's actual voltage drops below the threshold the IC expects at that percentage, the phone reads it as a critical low and cuts power. Running one full discharge down to automatic cutoff — then charging uninterrupted to 100% — resets the reference curve. After that cycle, the reported percentage should track the actual cell state accurately.

Phone will not power on after sitting in storage with this battery fitted

If the phone was stored with the battery installed and unused for an extended period, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V. At that level, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC needs to push a trickle current into the cell to bring voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold of approximately 2.9V before normal charging and boot will resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NEC N600 powers off by itself when the battery indicator still shows around 25% — is the new cell defective?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The N600's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, worn battery, and the new cell has a different voltage profile at low charge levels. When actual cell voltage dips under load — from the screen or radio — the IC sees it as a critical drop and shuts the phone down even though the displayed percentage looks reasonable. Run one full discharge to automatic cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% with fast charging off, and the gauge will remap to the new cell.

The phone is noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles. A fresh, higher-impedance cell causes the charge IC to work slightly harder as it pushes current into a cell it hasn't yet characterised. Heat should reduce noticeably after two or three full cycles as the internal resistance of the new cell settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, remove it from charge and check that the charger output matches the rated input voltage for the N600.

After fitting the replacement battery, the percentage jumps around erratically — 40%, then 60%, then back to 35% within minutes.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are caused by the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell whose discharge curve it doesn't yet recognise. The coulomb counter is making rapid corrections as it collects real data from the new cell under varying loads. This behaviour typically settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Discharge the phone fully until it powers off on its own, then charge it to 100% in a single uninterrupted session to give the IC a clean reference cycle.
