Fits Netgear Mingle 3G and Mingle 4G hotspots, replacing OEM battery CS-SWA883RC.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers rated capacity for full hotspot runtime per charge cycle.
Connector seats flush into the hotspot battery slot with positive terminal forward, no tab removal needed.
We bench-tested this cell in a Mingle 3G under combined WiFi and cellular load; BMS held stable voltage throughout discharge.
On first installation, power on the hotspot and let it idle for 10 minutes before connecting multiple devices to allow the BMS to establish baseline voltage reference.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Netgear Mingle 3G / AirCard 778S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery fits the Netgear Mingle 3G, Mingle 4G, NTGR778AVB, and AirCard 778S mobile hotspot devices. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped and the hotspot can no longer hold a charge through a typical session. Dimensions are 61.30 × 41.30 × 6.60mm — verify against your existing cell before fitting.

  • Mingle 3G / 4G and AirCard 778S platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under combined modem and Wi-Fi load — simulating four connected clients — and confirmed the BMS held voltage above the cutoff threshold without tripping a false low-battery shutdown.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on a hard, open surface when running extended sessions. The cellular radio pushes to maximum output power when connected devices are far away, and trapped heat accelerates cell degradation faster than charge cycling alone.

Mobile hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

When all four client slots are active and the cellular signal is marginal, the modem and Wi-Fi radios draw simultaneously at peak output. This combined load creates a brief voltage sag that the BMS can read as an undervoltage event, triggering a protective cutoff even with a new cell. The fix is to move the hotspot closer to a window or external wall to reduce radio output demand. Reducing active client connections to two or three also flattens the draw curve and stops the sag from hitting the BMS threshold.

Hotspot shows full bars but won't power on after sitting unused

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per month. If the hotspot sat unused for several months, the cell may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — and the BMS locks out the device entirely. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on; most chargers apply a low-current trickle below 3.0V to bring the cell back into the normal charge window. If the LED shows no activity after 30 minutes, the original cell is fully depleted and the replacement cell is the correct next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Netgear Mingle keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds, then reconnecting — is this the battery?

Yes, this is a voltage sag fault, not a signal fault. Under peak load — modem and Wi-Fi radios running at the same time with multiple clients active — the combined draw briefly pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, which restarts the radio stack. A worn cell with reduced capacity hits this threshold much sooner than a new one. Replace the battery and keep active client connections under four to reduce peak draw.

The hotspot battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in a basement or rural area — why?

Poor cellular signal forces the modem to transmit at maximum output power continuously, which is the single highest draw state for this device. Add simultaneous Wi-Fi clients and the combined current draw can be two to three times higher than normal use. The battery capacity is rated at 1500mAh under standard lab conditions, not maximum-radio load. Move the hotspot to a location with stronger signal and the drain rate will drop immediately — even placing it near a window makes a measurable difference.

The hotspot was stored in a drawer for four months and now won't turn on at all — is the battery dead?

Most likely, yes. Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage, and after four months the cell may have dropped below 3.0V — the minimum voltage the BMS requires to allow a boot sequence. Plug it into a charger for 30–45 minutes before pressing the power button; many chargers apply a recovery trickle below the normal charge window. If the indicator LED still shows nothing after 45 minutes of charging, the original cell is beyond recovery and needs to be replaced.
