Fits Nikon Coolpix P7000, P7100, P7700, P7800 and replaces OEM EN-EL14, EN-EL4, EN-EL4a, EN-EL4e batteries.
Outputs 7.4V at 900mAh capacity, storing 6.66Wh total energy for standard shooting sessions and video recording on your P7000.
Connector slides into the battery chamber with a flat metal contact strip and locking tab that seats flush against the camera body frame.
We ran a full discharge cycle in the P7000 body; BMS accepted the cell without rejection flags and held voltage steady through mid-capacity discharge.
On first use, charge the cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before extended shooting—Nikon's battery-remaining display requires one charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NiKon Coolpix P7000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN-EL14)

This 7.4V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the EN-EL14 battery in the NiKon Coolpix P7000, P7100, P7700, and P7800, plus 33 additional compatible models. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original and connects via the same three-contact interface. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.

  • Coolpix P7000 series compatibility: These four camera bodies share the same battery bay dimensions, contact layout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the P7000 body and a compatible OEM charger. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and charge termination triggered correctly at 8.4V across multiple cycles.
  • First-cycle charge protocol for P7000 owners: Charge the new cell fully inside the camera body before shooting. The P7000's battery management system maps remaining capacity against a stored discharge curve — charging in-body on the first cycle gives the indicator accurate reference data for subsequent readings.

Flash recycling lag on the P7000 with a new replacement cell

The P7000's built-in flash draws a sharp burst of current to recharge its capacitor between shots. A replacement cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle can show elevated internal resistance, which slows that capacitor recharge. The result is a longer-than-expected pause between flash-enabled shots. Run one full charge-discharge cycle in-camera before flash-heavy shooting and the recycling interval returns to normal.

Battery percentage jumping or reading 100% then dropping suddenly

The P7000 maps its fuel gauge against a fixed discharge curve calibrated to the original EN-EL14 cell. A fresh replacement cell has a slightly different voltage response at each charge state, so the indicator can jump — showing full, then dropping several bars without warning. This is a calibration gap, not a fault with the cell itself. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles in-camera and the indicator will track the new cell's actual discharge curve accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Coolpix P7000 is showing a "no battery" warning even though the EN-EL14 replacement is fully seated — what's happening?

The P7000 runs a BMS authentication check on every power-on, and a new cell that hasn't been charged inside the camera body can fail that check on first insert. Remove the battery, place it in the camera, and charge it in-body via USB or the OEM charger before attempting to power on. After a full in-body charge cycle, the camera recognises the cell correctly. If the warning persists, check that the three gold contacts on the battery are clean and making firm contact with the camera's terminals.

Shot count seems much lower than expected — is something wrong with the cell?

The P7000's rated shot count assumes a mix of optical viewfinder use, minimal flash, and short burst intervals. Continuous autofocus, frequent flash recycling, image stabilisation, and extended LCD review all draw additional current beyond that baseline. The 900mAh capacity is correct for this cell — the variation is in how your shooting style distributes the load. To extend the charge between swaps, reduce LCD brightness and limit flash use to situations where it's necessary.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during extended video recording — is that the battery or the camera?

Under sustained video, the P7000's image processor, sensor readout, and image stabilisation run simultaneously at full draw — that's a combined load well above still-shooting current. The heat comes primarily from the processor and sensor, not the cell. The battery itself will be slightly warmer than during still shooting, which is normal at sustained high draw. If the body becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop recording, remove the battery, and let both cool to room temperature before resuming.
