Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NiKon Coolpix S550 / S560 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN-EL11)
This is a 3.7V, 680mAh lithium-ion cell built to the EN-EL11 specification. It fits the NiKon Coolpix S550 and Coolpix S560 compact cameras. Voltage, connector footprint, and physical dimensions match the original cell: 38.20 × 26.82 × 7.34mm.
- Coolpix S550 and S560 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V power rail and use an identical battery bay and contact arrangement. One cell covers both bodies with no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S550 body. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, the battery indicator populated correctly, and voltage held steady through flash-enabled burst sequences.
- First-cycle charging on the S550 and S560: Charge the cell fully in the camera body using the OEM charger before your first shoot. Some Coolpix bodies need one complete in-body charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve and display an accurate battery-remaining percentage.
Flash recycling slowing down before the battery indicator drops
The Coolpix S550's flash capacitor draws a concentrated burst of current to recharge between shots. As cell voltage sags toward the lower end of the discharge curve, that recharge current takes longer to deliver — even when the on-screen indicator still shows two or three bars. This is a voltage-sag symptom, not a capacity problem. If recycle lag appears, stop shooting and recharge the cell. A rested cell at 3.7V nominal will restore normal flash timing.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Coolpix display
The S550 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell may discharge along a slightly different curve, causing the display to jump — for example, from three bars to one bar without passing through two. This is a display-mapping issue, not a fault with the cell. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles through the camera body. After that, the indicator stabilises as the BMS learns the new cell's actual curve.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Coolpix S550 shows a dead battery icon immediately after inserting the EN-EL11 replacement — even though it's charged. What's happening?
The S550's BMS runs a voltage authentication check on insertion. If the cell hasn't been charged inside the camera body yet, the resting voltage may fall just below the camera's acceptance threshold, triggering the dead-battery indicator. Insert the cell and connect the OEM charger directly to the camera body — don't use an external charger for the first cycle. Once the body completes a full charge from inside, it accepts the cell and the indicator clears.
Shot count feels much lower than expected — the battery drains faster than my original EN-EL11 did. Is something wrong?
The rated capacity is 680mAh, identical to the OEM spec, but actual shot count shifts depending on how you shoot. Flash, continuous autofocus, and optical zoom motor all draw current beyond the baseline figure used in shot-count estimates. Cold ambient temperature also compresses lithium-ion discharge capacity noticeably. Check whether you're shooting with flash forced on or in continuous AF mode — switching to single-shot AF and disabling flash when not needed brings draw back in line with the rated cell capacity.
The Coolpix S560 body feels warm after sustained video recording on this replacement cell. Is that normal or a sign the battery is failing?
Warmth during video is expected on the S560 — the sensor, image processor, and autofocus system all run simultaneously, and combined draw is significantly higher than still shooting. That heat comes primarily from the camera body's processor, not the cell itself. If the battery surface feels hot rather than warm, or the camera shuts down mid-clip, let both the body and cell cool for ten minutes and check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact before recording again.
