Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia Lumia 900 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP-6EW)

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 900 4G LTE smartphones. It uses the OEM part number BP-6EW and slots into the same battery bay as the original cell. Capacity is rated at 6.66Wh.

  • Lumia 900 and 900 4G LTE compatibility: Both variants share the same physical battery bay, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BP-6EW spec covers both — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Lumia 900 unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake on the first cycle, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without tripping a protective cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration tip: On first use after fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge modes and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve for the new cell before higher charge rates are applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Lumia 900 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem transmits or the AMOLED display hits peak brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell that hasn't been through a calibration cycle can drop below the BMS cutoff voltage — around 3.0V — under that load, even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard current resolves this. After calibration, the fuel gauge IC maps the actual discharge curve of the new cell and stops triggering premature shutdowns.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show nothing — no charging animation, no response. Connect to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lumia 900 is showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new BP-6EW — it jumped from 15% to 60% with no charge. What's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the Lumia 900 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that curve doesn't match and the IC reads state-of-charge inaccurately. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts off on its own — then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard current. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate against the new cell and report accurate percentages.

The Lumia 900 feels warm near the battery area while charging the new cell. Is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-cycled original. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance, which generates more heat in the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell is cycled. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect and let it cool before continuing. After three to five charge cycles, impedance drops and the heat during charging should fall back to normal levels.

The battery percentage on my Lumia 900 jumps around erratically — it'll read 45%, drop to 12%, then bounce back up. What causes this?

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The coulomb counter is interpolating state-of-charge from a lookup table built for the old cell, so readings become unstable under load. Do not top up the charge between sessions during the first cycle — let the phone discharge fully and recharge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. After that cycle completes, the IC has a new reference curve and percentage jumps should stop.
