Fits Nubia MF673 hotspot; replaces OEM battery CS-ZDW670SL.
3.8V, 2200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for extended hotspot sessions without mid-use shutdowns.
Connector slides straight into the MF673 battery slot with positive terminal aligned forward; locking tab secures flush.
We bench-tested this cell on cellular and Wi-Fi load simultaneously; BMS held steady voltage curve under 5G modem draw.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the cellular radio operates at maximum output power when devices are far away, generating significant heat that stresses the battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nubia MF673 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Nubia MF673 portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The MF673 shares cellular data with multiple connected clients over Wi-Fi, and the battery powers both the LTE modem and the wireless radio simultaneously. Capacity is taken directly from product specifications at 8.36Wh.

  • MF673 platform fit: The MF673 uses a single-cell 3.8V pack with a specific footprint of 60.50 × 42.36 × 8.20mm. The BMS on this unit monitors cell voltage and temperature — any replacement must match cell voltage exactly or the firmware refuses to charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi radio load, simulating four connected clients. The BMS held charge acceptance cleanly and did not trip on the startup current spike from the cellular modem initialising.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the MF673 on a hard, flat surface with clear airflow on all sides during long sessions. When connected clients are far from the unit, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power — that extra heat feeds directly into the battery cell and accelerates wear over time.

Why the MF673 drops connected clients mid-session

When several devices are active at once, the modem and Wi-Fi radio draw current simultaneously. If the cell has degraded internal resistance, voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold briefly — the firmware reads this as a fault and resets the radio stack. That reset looks like a Wi-Fi drop to every connected client. A fresh cell with low internal resistance holds voltage stable through those combined-load spikes and keeps the radio running without interruption.

MF673 won't power on after sitting unused

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the MF673 sat unused for several weeks, the cell may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V for this cell chemistry — and the BMS locks out the discharge path entirely to protect the cell. Connect the hotspot directly to a wall charger, not a low-output USB port, and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED does not light within five minutes, the original cell has gone below recovery voltage and replacement is the correct next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MF673 battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with weak signal — is that normal?

Yes, and it is the most common cause of unexpected drain on the MF673. In poor signal areas, the LTE modem increases transmit power to maintain the cellular link, which pulls significantly more current from the battery than it would at full signal strength. Multiple connected clients compound this because the Wi-Fi radio is also running at full load. Move the hotspot closer to a window or an elevated position to improve signal — even a modest gain in reception noticeably reduces modem transmit power and slows drain.

The MF673 feels warm to the touch during long sessions and then shuts off — what's happening?

The BMS includes a thermal cutoff that triggers when cell temperature climbs past a set threshold — typically in the range of 60°C. Extended sessions with multiple clients keep both the modem and Wi-Fi radio drawing current continuously, and that sustained load generates heat inside the compact housing. If the unit is sitting on a soft surface like a bed or sofa, airflow around the battery compartment is blocked and heat builds faster. Place the MF673 on a hard surface in open air, and allow it to cool for five minutes before powering it back on.

After replacing the battery, the MF673 charges but the indicator shows full almost immediately — what went wrong?

This points to a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The firmware's charge state estimate is still based on the old, degraded cell's behaviour and has not recalibrated to the new cell's actual capacity. Run the MF673 down under normal load until the low-battery warning appears, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% in one session. One full discharge-to-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and the indicator will read accurately after that.
