This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Olympia Mira Plus and Voice cordless handsets. It matches OEM part number T426 and fits directly into the handset battery compartment. Voltage and cell count are identical to the original pack.

  • Mira Plus and Voice compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration, and base station charging contacts. One pack covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Mira Plus base station and confirmed the charging circuit accepted the NiMH voltage curve without fault. The BMS on these handsets monitors charge termination via delta-V — the cell chemistry here triggers that cutoff cleanly.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. The Mira Plus base charges at a trickle rate, so partial cycles — picking up the handset before it fully charges — slow the conditioning process. Run the handset until it gives a low-battery alert, then return it to the base for a complete charge. After five full cycles, capacity should stabilise at or near the rated 1200mAh.

Base station charge light not activating on a freshly installed pack

NiMH packs can drop below the voltage threshold the Mira Plus base expects after sitting in storage. If the base does not show a charge indicator within a few minutes of seating the handset, remove and reseat the handset firmly — poor contact on the charging pins is the most common cause. If the light still does not activate, the pack voltage may be too low for the base to recognise; place the handset in the base for 30 minutes undisturbed, then check again. Most bases will begin charging once the pack recovers to approximately 3.0V.

Remove the handset, clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and check that it sits flush with no wobble. A properly seated Mira Plus handset should show a solid charge indicator within 60 seconds.

The Mira Plus signal drops and crackles near the edges of the house — could the new battery be causing it?

Yes — low NiMH cell voltage under RF load directly reduces transmit power on cordless handsets. If the replacement pack has not been fully conditioned yet, voltage sags when the radio fires, which shrinks the effective range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to bring the cells to rated capacity, and always return the handset to the base between calls. If range is still reduced after conditioning, check that the base station is positioned at least one metre away from other 2.4 GHz devices and wi-fi routers.
