Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympia Vox — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DRT043450-01)
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the Olympia Vox smartphone. It replaces the original DRT043450-01 battery when the existing cell can no longer hold adequate charge. Dimensions are 53.80 x 36.90 x 5.20mm — confirm these against your existing cell before installation.
- Olympia Vox fit: The Vox uses a compact battery bay with a fixed connector orientation. This cell matches the OEM footprint and connector pinout, so the BMS handshake between the battery and the phone's charge IC functions as the original cell does.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held charge termination correctly and did not trip early under simulated screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge calibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Vox reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Vox uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from repeated charge and discharge cycles. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old cell's curve. The percentage shown on screen can read 40% while the actual cell voltage is already near the low-voltage cutoff. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the coulomb counter to reset and map the new cell's actual capacity. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue. Under combined modem and screen load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is most common in the first few cycles on a new cell. Run the phone through two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging. If shutdowns continue after that, check that the resting cell voltage after a full charge reads at least 4.15V — anything lower points to a charge termination fault in the phone's charge IC.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Olympia Vox won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will boot. If the screen shows no charging indicator after 30 minutes, try a different cable and a charger rated at least 5V 1A.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the Olympia Vox after fitting this battery — what happened?
On the first cycle with a new cell, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charging while it negotiates the USB-PD or proprietary fast charge protocol against the new BMS. This is normal. Complete one full charge at standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Fast charging typically re-engages from the second cycle onward once the BMS and charge IC have completed their handshake on the new cell.
The battery percentage on my Olympia Vox jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in minutes, then back up — what's causing it?
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. It is still using the discharge curve mapped to the old, degraded cell, so it misreads where the new cell actually sits on its voltage curve. Run two full cycles — discharge the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% both times, with fast charging disabled. After two cycles the coulomb counter will have enough data to track the new cell accurately and the percentage readings will settle.
