Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Optus X Sleek / OT-5080Q — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP024C1)
This is a 3.85V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Optus X Sleek smartphone (model OT-5080Q / 5080Q). It replaces the original TLP024C1 when the existing cell has degraded past usable capacity. Voltage, footprint, and connector match the original battery bay.
- X Sleek / OT-5080Q platform fit: The 5080Q and X Sleek share the same battery bay dimensions (70.95 × 56.70 × 3.40mm), connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers both model references without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on the OT-5080Q platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge IC engaged normally, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state of charge without manual reset.
- First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before returning to normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the 5080Q is calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it map the new cell's characteristics and report accurate percentages.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the X Sleek after a cell swap
A fresh lithium-polymer cell has a steeper voltage drop-off under peak load than a broken-in cell. When the modem fires a transmission burst or the display ramps brightness, current draw spikes sharply. If the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory, it reports 25% when the actual terminal voltage under load is already near the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS trips and the phone shuts down. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates these early cutoffs.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge cycle
A new high-impedance lithium-polymer cell dissipates more heat during the initial charge than a conditioned cell does. The charge IC on the OT-5080Q applies the same current it used on the old, lower-impedance cell — so internal resistance losses generate more heat until the cell conditions over the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces after two to three full charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, pause charging and let it cool to room temperature before resuming at a lower-current source such as a standard 5W USB adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Optus X Sleek showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the OT-5080Q stores a discharge curve calibrated to your old cell — it doesn't automatically update when you swap in a new one. The percentage reading reflects where the old curve said voltage would be, not where the new cell actually sits. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and percentage reporting stabilises.
My X Sleek won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the TLP024C1 dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking output entirely. Connect the phone to a low-current 5W USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the BMS unlocks and the phone boots normally.
Fast charging stopped working on my X Sleek right after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?
On the first connection, the BMS in a replacement cell hasn't yet completed a handshake with the phone's charge IC for elevated-current charging. The OT-5080Q defaults to standard charge rates when it can't verify the cell's fast-charge authorisation on the initial cycle. Complete one full charge at standard rate — plug into a basic 5W adapter, not a fast-charge brick — and let it reach 100% uninterrupted. On the following charge cycle the charge IC renegotiates the protocol with the now-initialised BMS and fast charging resumes at the correct rate.
