Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Idol 4 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp026E2)
This is a 3.8V, 2200mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Alcatel One Touch Idol 4 and One Touch Idol 4 LTE Dual SIM smartphones. OEM part numbers TLp026E2, TLp026EJ, and CAC2610005CJ cross-reference to this cell. It fits the OT-6055H, OT-6055Y, and several additional OT-6055 variants.
- OT-6055 platform fit: The OT-6055H, OT-6055Y, and related Idol 4 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all of them without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the TLp026E2 cell through full charge-discharge cycles on the OT-6055 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge correctly after one complete cycle.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging starts pushing current into an uncalibrated state-of-charge map.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Idol 4 after a cell swap
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a worn cell. When the modem fires a high-power transmission burst or the screen ramps brightness, current draw spikes sharply. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it can read 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold. The phone shuts down to protect the cell — not because the battery is faulty. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell, and the premature shutdowns stop.
Idol 4 won't power on after sitting in a drawer for months
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. After extended storage, the cell can drop below 2.5V — the threshold where the BMS latches into deep-discharge lockout to prevent cell damage. The phone won't respond to the power button and may show nothing on screen even when plugged in. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at least 5V/1A and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8V, at which point the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Alcatel Idol 4 show the wrong battery percentage after I replaced the battery?
The fuel gauge IC on the Idol 4 builds its state-of-charge map around the discharge curve of the old cell. A new cell has a different curve, so the coulomb counter reads incorrectly until it recalibrates. Run one full discharge — use the phone until it shuts itself off — then charge to 100% uninterrupted without fast charging. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge IC resets its baseline and percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in my Idol 4 after swapping the battery — is the charger broken?
The charger is fine. On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC runs a compatibility check against the new BMS. Some proprietary fast-charge handshakes time out or fall back to standard 5V charging until the BMS has completed at least one full cycle and the IC logs a successful charge profile. Plug in using your original charger and let the first charge complete at whatever rate the phone accepts. Fast-charge negotiation typically resumes normally from the second cycle onward.
My Idol 4 feels warm near the back panel while charging after the battery replacement — is that normal?
A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell generates slightly more heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by pushing a higher voltage differential across the cell, which produces warmth. If the phone is warm but not hot — below the point where it's uncomfortable to hold — this is normal and fades after two or three cycles as internal impedance drops. If the device becomes too hot to hold or the screen shows an overheating warning, stop charging and check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pinched flex cables beneath it.
