Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Philips PowerPro Uno FC6170 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (7ICR19/65-25)
This is a 25.2V 2500mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Philips PowerPro Uno cordless stick vacuum, covering FC6170 and FC6170/01 models. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and connects via the same multi-pin interface. Capacity is 2500mAh (63Wh), matching the original specification.
- FC6170 and FC6170/01 compatibility: Both FC6170 variants run the same 25.2V power rail and use identical battery bay geometry and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is the same across the range, so one battery cell services the full FC6170 lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the FC6170 motor controller under simulated floor and carpet loads. The BMS held the 25.2V rail steady across draw spikes and released cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without false trips.
- Dock charging behaviour on the PowerPro Uno: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the charge indicator shows full. The FC6170 dock does not interrupt trickle current automatically, and cells left on continuous dock charge lose usable capacity faster than those charged only when depleted.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the FC6170
The FC6170 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling the cell voltage down under load faster than the indicator circuit anticipates. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage, so it can show two bars while suction has already dropped noticeably. This is not a faulty battery. Clean the filter and check the dust container seal before concluding the pack has failed. A fully charged, unobstructed FC6170 should hold consistent suction from the first pass until the BMS low-voltage cutoff triggers.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a mechanical fault. When the FC6170 nozzle partially blocks — common on thick carpet or near skirting boards — the motor stalls briefly and current spikes above the BMS trip threshold, cutting power to protect the cells. The pack resets after a short thermal and current cooldown, which is why the vacuum restarts a few seconds later. Clear the nozzle and brush roll of any obstruction, then check that the filter is clean. If trips continue on an unobstructed vacuum, check that the pack voltage reads at least 25.0V at the terminals before concluding a BMS fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Philips PowerPro Uno lose suction well before the battery light shows it's low?
The FC6170's battery indicator reads resting cell voltage, not voltage under motor load. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw higher current, which drags the loaded voltage down fast — suction drops while the indicator still reads mid-range. Clean the filter and empty the dust container first. If suction stays consistent after that, the pack is working correctly.
My PowerPro Uno cuts out for a few seconds during cleaning and then starts again on its own — what's happening?
That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, most often caused by a partial blockage at the nozzle or brush roll on thick carpet. Current surges when the motor strains against restricted airflow, the BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once current drops. Clear the nozzle and brush roll of any debris. If the cutouts continue on a clean, unobstructed vacuum, check that the pack reads at least 25.0V at the terminals before suspecting a BMS fault.
The runtime on my new replacement battery seems shorter than expected — is the pack defective?
A blocked or dirty filter is the most common cause. Restricted airflow makes the FC6170 motor draw more current than rated, depleting the 2500mAh pack faster than normal. Run two or three full charge-and-use cycles with a clean filter before judging capacity. Also confirm the vacuum is removed from the dock once fully charged — continuous dock charging degrades cell capacity over time, even on a new pack.
