A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a fault with the cell itself. The PG-200 cradle reads pack voltage through pogo-pin contacts, and oxidation or debris on either the dock or battery contacts raises resistance enough to trigger an error flag. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the cell is fine — the contact surface was the problem.

The PG-200 draws simultaneously from the wireless radio and the scan trigger during a rapid scan burst. When the cell voltage sags under that combined inrush load, the device can drop its wireless connection before the BMS trips — the radio loses power first because the scanner prioritises the imager. Charge the pack to full before the shift starts and confirm the cradle indicator shows a complete charge cycle — not just a partial top-up.
