Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Posiflex PG-200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RB-3000)
This is a 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Posiflex PG-200 portable data collection terminal. It fits the PG-200 handheld scanner used in retail, inventory, and warehousing environments. The OEM part number is RB-3000.
- PG-200 compatibility: The PG-200 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture. This pack matches the voltage rail, cell format, and BMS handshake that the terminal's charge management circuit expects. Mismatched cell counts or chemistry trigger a protection cutoff — this pack avoids that.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-trigger and wireless radio draw simultaneously to confirm the BMS held stable under combined inrush loads. Charge acceptance and cutoff thresholds matched OEM spec across multiple discharge cycles.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first burst of activity.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new RB-3000 pack
A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a fault with the cell itself. The PG-200 cradle reads pack voltage through pogo-pin contacts, and oxidation or debris on either the dock or battery contacts raises resistance enough to trigger an error flag. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the cell is fine — the contact surface was the problem.
Scanner losing wireless connection mid-scan burst
The PG-200 draws simultaneously from the wireless radio and the scan trigger during a rapid scan burst. When the cell voltage sags under that combined inrush load, the device can drop its wireless connection before the BMS trips — the radio loses power first because the scanner prioritises the imager. This typically appears on a degraded original pack but can also occur if a replacement cell was installed at low state of charge. Charge the pack to full before the shift starts and confirm the cradle indicator shows a complete charge cycle — not just a partial top-up.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PG-200 scanner won't read barcodes after I put in the new battery — the laser comes on but nothing registers. What's wrong?
The imager and decoder need sufficient voltage to process a scan correctly — if the new pack was installed at a low state of charge, the cell voltage may be too depressed to sustain full decoder operation even though the laser fires. Seat the scanner in the cradle and run a complete charge cycle before attempting a scan. Once the cradle indicator shows a full charge, the decoder should process reads normally. If it still fails after a confirmed full charge, the issue is in the scanner hardware, not the battery.
The PG-200 runs noticeably warm after a few hours of scanning — is the replacement battery causing that?
Heat in the PG-200 housing during extended shifts is normal — the scanner combines sustained wireless polling with repeated scan trigger draws inside a compact plastic enclosure, and that generates heat regardless of which battery is installed. The RB-3000 pack itself does not run hot under normal scan loads; heat you feel through the housing is primarily from the radio module and processor. If the battery itself feels hot to the touch when you remove it, check that the cradle is not continuing to push charge current after a full cycle — a stuck charge relay in an old cradle can overcharge a healthy cell.
The new battery seems to last a shorter shift than the old one did when it was new — could it be a capacity issue with the replacement?
Shift endurance on the PG-200 depends heavily on scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval, not just raw capacity. A high scan rate combined with a persistent wireless connection drains the 5200mAh cell faster than intermittent use does — if your workflow has changed, that accounts for most of the difference. To isolate the variable, charge fully, run a normal shift, and note what voltage the pack reads at end of shift; a healthy cell should still show above 3.5V after a standard warehouse day. If it drops below 3.4V under a normal load, the pack warrants a warranty review.
