Fits ProAm USA Iris 7" On-Camera Monitor; replaces OEM battery CS-F750.
7.4V, 4400mAh delivers stable voltage for full on-set monitoring sessions without mid-shoot shutdown.
Connector mates directly into Iris monitor battery bay; seating is spring-loaded and click-locks positively.
We bench-tested this cell in the Iris monitor for charge acceptance and BMS handshake; voltage ramp was clean across the full discharge curve with no early cutoff.
On first power-up, charge this cell fully in the monitor itself before extended field use — the Iris BMS requires an internal charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge profile for accurate battery-remaining display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ProAm USA Iris 7" On-Camera Monitor — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V, 4400mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the ProAm USA Iris 7" On-Camera Monitor. The Iris is a portable external monitor used on set for focus pulling, exposure checks, and live camera feed display. It draws steady current from this cell during extended shoots when mains power or a V-mount system isn't available.

  • Iris 7" monitor platform: The Iris runs a fixed 7.4V two-cell Li-ion configuration. The BMS in this monitor expects a cell within a tight voltage window at startup — cells that sit below 6.0V from storage may not register on first connection.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the monitor platform, confirmed BMS handshake at startup, and verified stable voltage delivery under the panel and backlight draw without cutoff events.
  • Storage between shoots: The Iris monitor's BMS does not actively balance cells during standby. If the battery sits fully charged for several weeks between productions, discharge it to around 50% before storing — Li-ion cells held at full charge lose capacity faster over time.

Why the Iris monitor shows no power despite a charged replacement cell

The Iris monitor's BMS performs a voltage check at power-on before enabling the display. A replacement cell that has discharged during shipping — often below 6.8V — may fall outside the acceptance window, and the monitor simply won't turn on. Connect the battery to a compatible Li-ion charger first and bring it to at least 7.2V before inserting it into the monitor. Once the cell clears the threshold, the monitor will power on normally and the BMS will complete its initialisation sequence.

Backlight brightness stepping down mid-shoot without user input

The Iris monitor includes a low-voltage protection circuit that reduces backlight output when cell voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold — this can look like an automatic brightness change but is actually a load-shedding response. The panel and backlight together are the primary draw, so brightness reduction happens earlier than users expect. If the monitor dims but hasn't shut off, check the cell voltage with a multimeter — a reading below 7.0V under load means the cell is near depletion. Recharge the cell fully and the monitor will return to full brightness on next use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Iris monitor turns on for a second then goes black — is the replacement cell dead?

Almost always, no. A cell that discharged during shipping can sit below the BMS acceptance voltage and cause the monitor to cut power immediately after startup. Pull the battery and charge it externally to at least 7.2V before reinserting. Once the cell clears that threshold, the monitor will stay on through the full startup sequence.

The battery percentage on the Iris monitor jumps around — it shows 80%, then drops to 30% within a few minutes of use.

The Iris monitor maps its battery indicator to a voltage-threshold curve calibrated to the original cell's discharge profile. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge curve, causing the percentage display to jump at points where the voltage steps don't align with the monitor's internal map. The cell capacity itself is not affected — the actual energy delivered is accurate. The indicator will settle and track more consistently after two or three full charge-discharge cycles.

The Iris monitor shuts off abruptly in cold outdoor conditions even when the battery shows charge remaining.

Li-ion cells lose usable voltage faster in low temperatures — below about 10°C, internal resistance rises and the cell voltage under load can drop enough to trigger the BMS cutoff before the cell is actually depleted. Warm the battery to room temperature before heading on set, or keep a spare cell in an inside jacket pocket between takes. Once the cell warms back up, it will recover most of its charge and the monitor will power on again normally.
