Fits Progetti Rescue Life and Rescue Life 38 defibrillators, replaces OEM part 110976.
14.4V 3800mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full capacity for complete charge cycles between clinical deployments.
Connector type and orientation match the factory battery slot; no adapter or modification needed.
We ran full charge-discharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, let the defibrillator complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical devices verify new cells during startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that clears only on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Progetti Rescue Life Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110976)

This is a 14.4V 3800mAh (54.72Wh) Ni-MH battery for the Progetti Rescue Life and Rescue Life 38 automated external defibrillators. It matches OEM part number 110976. The Rescue Life is a clinical-grade AED used in emergency cardiac resuscitation, so battery condition is critical to device readiness.

  • Rescue Life and Rescue Life 38 compatibility: Both models run on the same 14.4V Ni-MH power rail with an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One battery cell fits both. No adapter, no modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Rescue Life's full charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack, completed charge termination correctly, and reported ready status. Capacity held at rated 3800mAh across the first three cycles.
  • Post-install self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the Rescue Life complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device's BMS runs a chemistry verification sequence at startup. Cutting power during this sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next cold reboot.

Why the Rescue Life's BMS flags a new battery as low on first power-on

The Rescue Life BMS measures internal resistance and open-circuit voltage at startup and compares both against learned thresholds built from the previous cell's data. A fresh Ni-MH pack has slightly higher internal resistance before the first few charge-discharge cycles condition the cell. This mismatch can trigger a low-battery warning even on a fully charged new pack. One complete charge-discharge cycle after installation allows the BMS to recalibrate and clear the fault.

Rescue Life fails to complete boot sequence after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day under ambient storage conditions. A pack stored for several months can drop below 10V — the threshold below which the Rescue Life's BMS will not initiate boot. Placing the battery on charge first without fitting it to the device brings voltage back above the 12V recovery floor. Once the charger confirms voltage is above 12V, fit the pack and power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Rescue Life is showing a low battery warning immediately after I fitted a fully charged new 110976 — why?

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The Rescue Life's onboard BMS compares internal resistance and resting voltage against thresholds it learned from the previous battery. A new Ni-MH pack reads higher internal resistance before its cells are conditioned, which trips the low-battery alarm. Run one full charge-discharge cycle through the device — the BMS will recalibrate and the warning will clear.

The Rescue Life powered on fine for the first few uses but is now shutting off unexpectedly mid-operation — what's happening?

Ni-MH cells in medical devices with high-pulse load profiles — like AEDs charging capacitors — stress new packs harder in the first 10 cycles than in steady-state use. Under a capacitor-charging pulse, voltage sag on an unconditioned cell can briefly breach the BMS undervoltage cutoff, triggering a shutdown. This improves progressively through the first 10 charge-discharge cycles as the cells reach full electrochemical capacity. If shutdowns continue past cycle 10, check resting voltage — it should hold above 13.5V at full charge.

The charge indicator on my Rescue Life stopped at around 90% and won't reach 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is this normal?

Yes. The Rescue Life's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on the first charge of a new Ni-MH cell to avoid overcharging an unconditioned pack. This is intentional — the device reads 90–95% until the cell's internal resistance drops after the first full cycle. Let the pack complete a full discharge through normal device operation, then recharge fully. On the second charge, the indicator will reach 100%.
