Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KAIXIN RKU10 Veterinary Ultrasound Machine — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HYLB-1676)
This 11.1V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the HYLB-1676 in the KAIXIN RKU10 portable veterinary ultrasound machine. It matches the original voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake the device expects at startup. Capacity figures are taken from the product specification — 57.72Wh total energy.
- RKU10 platform fit: The RKU10 uses an 11.1V three-cell Li-ion pack with a specific BMS communication line. The device reads cell authentication data at power-on — a mismatched pack causes an immediate fault before the imaging system initialises.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the RKU10 power-on sequence and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly. The charge IC accepted the cell and the device advanced through its self-test without triggering a battery fault flag.
- First-boot sequence on the RKU10: After fitting this battery, let the RKU10 complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the boot cycle. The device runs a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during this step writes a fault to memory that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the RKU10 flags a battery fault on a fully charged new cell
The RKU10 BMS uses a learned capacity model to validate the connected pack. On a new cell that has never been cycled in this device, the BMS has no stored charge curve to reference and applies a conservative threshold. This can trigger a low-battery warning or fault flag even when the pack reads 12.5V or above at the terminals. Running one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle lets the BMS record the actual capacity curve and clears the fault on subsequent boots. Do not use the unit clinically until that first cycle is complete.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on the first charge
On the first charge, the RKU10 charge IC applies a reduced current ceiling to a new cell it has not previously profiled. This is normal behaviour — the IC is measuring internal resistance before committing to full charge current. The indicator typically stalls between 85% and 95% for an extended period before advancing. Leave the device on charge until the indicator reaches 100% and the charge LED changes state. Disconnecting early at this stage leaves the BMS with an incomplete capacity baseline, which causes repeated short-charge cycles going forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
The RKU10 is alarming low battery immediately after I put in a fully charged replacement — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The RKU10 BMS checks the connected pack against a stored charge profile at startup, and a new cell has no profile on record yet. The device applies its most conservative threshold by default and triggers the alarm even at full voltage. Run one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle — once the BMS logs the actual capacity curve, the alarm clears on the next boot.
The RKU10 will not power on at all after the new battery sat in its packaging for a few months — what happened?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack voltage dropped below roughly 9V the RKU10 BMS will have entered deep-discharge lockout to protect the cells. Connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to power on — the charge IC needs time to trickle-charge the cells back above the BMS recovery threshold of approximately 10.5V before it will release the lockout and allow startup.
The RKU10 is shutting off unexpectedly during scans — I only installed this battery two days ago.
New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first ten cycles, and the RKU10 imaging transducer creates a sharp current draw during active scanning. That load spike causes a momentary voltage sag on a new cell, which the BMS reads as a critical undervoltage event and triggers an immediate cutoff. This behaviour resolves after the cell has been cycled five to ten times and internal resistance drops to its rated value. Keep the battery topped up above 50% during this break-in period to reduce sag depth under load.
