Fits Raleigh Dover 360 and eleven other Raleigh eBike models with OEM battery slot.
25.2V and 18000mAh delivers 453.6Wh—enough for commute range on flat terrain or mixed hill climbing.
Connector slides into the down-tube battery bay with a quarter-turn locking tab on the underside.
We bench-tested this pack on a Dover 360 motor load simulator; BMS accepted full 20A sustained climb current without voltage cutoff.
After winter storage below 10°C, charge slowly for thirty minutes before your first ride—cold cells resist fast charge and cause permanent anode damage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Raleigh Dover 360 / Dover De Luxe P8 XXL — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 25.2V 18000mAh (453.6Wh) lithium-ion pack replaces the original battery on the Raleigh Dover 360, Dover De Luxe P8 XXL, Dover HS, Dover XXL LTD, and 12 additional Dover variants. It matches the voltage rail and connector spec of the OEM unit. Dimensions are 272.50 × 153.50 × 103.80mm — check your current pack before ordering.

  • Dover platform compatibility: All listed Dover variants share the same 25.2V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between models in this range does not require rewiring or adapters.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated motor-draw loads reflecting sustained hill climbing. The BMS held voltage above the cutoff threshold under continuous draw and balanced cells within spec across discharge cycles.
  • Winter storage recharge tip: After any period of cold storage, connect the charger and let it trickle for at least 30 minutes before riding. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance — pushing a fast-charge or full motor load immediately can cause lithium plating on the anode, which permanently reduces the number of usable charge cycles.

E-bike motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

Sustained climbing draws peak current from the pack for longer than flat riding. If the BMS detects cell voltage dropping below its low-cell cutoff — typically around 2.5V per cell under load — it trips and cuts motor output to protect the cells. This is normal BMS behaviour, not a faulty battery. To reduce trip frequency, lower assist level on long climbs to reduce sustained current draw, or allow the pack to rest for 60 seconds at the top before continuing.

Charger showing no activity after the Dover has sat unused through winter

If the pack has self-discharged below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically under 20V for a 25.2V Li-ion pack — most chargers will not initiate a charge cycle. The cells are not necessarily dead. Connect the charger and leave it for 30 minutes without interrupting it; many chargers will begin a low-current recovery charge once the BMS registers a minimum cell voltage. If the charger light remains off after 30 minutes, check that pack voltage reads above 18V with a multimeter before assuming cell failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Raleigh Dover cuts out halfway up a steep hill — is that the battery failing or a trip?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained climbing draws peak current long enough to drag individual cell voltages below the BMS cutoff, which shuts motor output to protect the pack. Drop to a lower assist level on long inclines to reduce sustained draw. If the bike restarts after a 60-second rest at the top, the BMS has reset and the pack is functioning correctly.

My Dover's range dropped noticeably on the first cold morning of the year — what's happening?

Li-ion capacity drops 15–25% below 5°C because cold increases internal cell resistance, limiting how much energy the pack can actually deliver under load. The capacity hasn't permanently reduced — it returns once the cells warm up during the first few kilometres of riding. Store the battery indoors overnight before cold-weather rides and fit it to the bike just before departure to hold that warmth through the first leg of the journey.

The motor stutters under my weight on a steep incline but runs fine on flat ground — two different issues?

This is voltage sag, not a cutout. Under heavy rider load on an incline, peak current demand causes cell voltage to dip temporarily, which the motor controller reads as reduced power availability and delivers uneven output. It's most noticeable on a pack that has already lost some capacity through ageing cycles. Check resting pack voltage after a full charge — it should read 25.2V. If resting voltage is consistently below 24V after a full charge, the pack has degraded beyond normal sag and needs replacement.
