Fits Raspberry Pi handheld gaming system, replaces OEM part WS104060 battery pack.
3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers rated capacity for extended play sessions between charges.
Connector seats into the proprietary Raspberry Pi battery slot with positive-first orientation and locking tab engagement.
We cycled this pack on bench load simulation; BMS accepted charge current at full rate on first insertion with no thermal throttling detected.
After installation, run one complete wireless play session to full automatic shutoff before recharging — the handheld fuel gauge calibrates its empty reference point against this first full discharge cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Raspberry Pi Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (WS104060)

This 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original WS104060 battery in the Raspberry Pi handheld gaming device range, including the Pi B, Pi A+, Pi B+, and five additional variants. It measures 61.00 × 39.80 × 9.40mm and matches the original connector and BMS communication protocol.

  • Pi A+, B, and B+ compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and WS104060 form factor. The connector pinout and charge IC handshake are identical across the range, so one cell fits all listed variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Pi's onboard charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. Charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged at the expected floor.
  • Fuel gauge calibration after install: On first use, run one complete wireless play session to full automatic cutoff before recharging. The Pi's fuel gauge IC sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge cycle — skipping this step causes the percentage display to read inaccurately for weeks.

Handheld console fuel gauge jumping or freezing after a cell swap

The Pi's fuel gauge IC learns the discharge curve of the cell it was last calibrated against. Swap in a new cell and the IC is now mapping a known curve onto a physically different cell — the result is percentage jumps, freezes at 99%, or sudden drops to 1%. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. The IC needs one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle to re-anchor its empty reference. After that first cycle, the gauge tracks correctly within a few percent.

Replacement cell not charging at full rate after install

The Pi's charge IC applies a reduced current limit when it detects a cell that hasn't established a charge history — this is a built-in safety behaviour, not a defect. You'll notice the device takes longer than expected to reach full charge on the first and second cycles. The IC lifts the conservative limit automatically after one or two complete charge cycles. If the slow charge persists beyond three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the flex cable hasn't shifted during reassembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Raspberry Pi shows 30% battery but shuts off immediately during an intense game — is the new cell faulty?

This is voltage sag, not a faulty cell. Under high CPU and wireless load combined, the cell's voltage drops sharply for a fraction of a second — enough to cross the BMS cutoff threshold even though the resting charge is still around 30%. New Li-Polymer cells are more prone to this in the first few cycles before internal resistance stabilises. Run 3–5 full discharge-and-recharge cycles and the sag at load will reduce noticeably.

The battery percentage is stuck at 99% for hours after a full charge — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC hasn't finished mapping the new cell's discharge curve yet. It's still using calibration data from the original cell, and the two curves don't align at the top end. Drain the battery completely to automatic cutoff in a single session, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That one full cycle resets the IC's reference points and the percentage will start moving normally from the next charge.

Play time feels noticeably shorter than my old battery even after a few charges — is the capacity actually 3000mAh?

New Li-Polymer cells typically deliver 80–90% of rated capacity in the first couple of cycles as the electrolyte fully wets the electrode structure. The cell is 3000mAh — it just needs conditioning to reach that figure. Run 3–5 complete charge and discharge cycles without interruption, and measured capacity will climb toward the rated value. If play time is still significantly short after five full cycles, recheck that the connector is fully seated, as a loose pin increases contact resistance and limits current delivery.
