Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Razer Blade Stealth 2016 V2 — 11.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (RC30-0196)
This 11.4V, 4550mAh (51.87Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the OEM RC30-0196 cell in the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 V2 and Blade Stealth i7-7500U. It fits RZ09-01964E31, RZ09-0196G10, and over 20 confirmed model variants sharing the same connector and BMS handshake. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or the laptop refuses to power on from battery alone.
- RZ09-0196 platform fit: All listed Blade Stealth variants in this series use the same 3-cell Li-Polymer pack, identical 40-pin flex connector, and the same BMS communication protocol — which is why one part number covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the RC30-0196 replacement through charge-discharge cycles on a Blade Stealth unit. The BMS handshake completed without error flags, charge acceptance reached full capacity, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and over-temperature conditions.
- Post-install calibration on the Blade Stealth: After fitting, run the battery down until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without waking the system. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacing the RC30-0196 cell
The Blade Stealth's BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM. When you fit a new cell, that stored data is gone — the BIOS has no learned baseline yet, so it flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is a calibration state, not a fault with the replacement. The BIOS needs one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted full charge to write new reference data. After that single cycle, health reporting returns to normal.
Blade Stealth shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC's charge map no longer matches the actual cell chemistry — it's a calibration mismatch, not a dead battery. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell hits a voltage cliff earlier than the gauge predicts, and the BMS cuts power to protect the pack. The fix is a calibration cycle: let the laptop discharge fully to hibernate, then charge to 100% in one session. After two to three of these cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Blade Stealth shows the new battery as 0% and won't read it at all — is the cell dead out of the box?
Not likely. The fuel gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, so it has no baseline to read the new one against. Boot the laptop on AC power, let it charge to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate without interrupting it. That single cycle gives the IC enough data to initialise the gauge correctly, and the percentage will start tracking normally from there.
Windows is showing the new RC30-0196 battery as 38Wh even though the cell is rated 51.87Wh — why is the Wh wrong?
The Wh figure Windows displays is pulled from EEPROM data written by the old cell, not measured from the new one. Until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle, it reports the last stored value, which may come from a degraded cell that had lost real capacity. Run one full discharge to hibernate followed by a 100% uninterrupted charge. After the learn cycle completes, the reported Wh figure updates to reflect the actual cell rating.
Charge stops at exactly 80% and the Blade Stealth won't go higher — what's limiting it?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Razer's firmware includes a battery care mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress during extended AC use. Open Razer Synapse, navigate to the Power section, and disable or adjust the battery charge threshold. Once that setting is off, the next charge cycle will run to 100%.
