Fits Redmi Note 8 Pro model 24117RK2CC and K80 5G; replaces OEM battery part BM69.
Voltage 3.85V nominal, 6400mAh capacity delivers sustained power to processor, display, and modem without early cutoff.
Connector type JST, standard smartphone alignment — locks flat against the phone's battery slot with no orientation guessing.
We ran full discharge cycles on a spare Note 8 Pro unit; the BMS tracked voltage clean through the curve with no premature shutdown signals.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before USB-PD pushes current into an uncalibrated BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi 24117RK2CC / K80 5G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM69)

This is a 3.85V, 6400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Redmi Note 8 Pro (24117RK2CC) and the Redmi K80 5G. It uses OEM part number BM69 and slots into the same battery bay with the same connector and contact orientation. Capacity is 24.64Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • 24117RK2CC and K80 5G fitment: Both models share the BM69 form factor, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The fuel gauge IC on each device reads the same cell chemistry, so the replacement is recognized without triggering a hardware fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BM69-compatible test rig. The BMS held cutoff at 4.35V on the charge ceiling and tripped protection at 2.8V on drain — both within spec. No thermal events occurred during fast-charge simulation.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amps into an uncalibrated register.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BM69 replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone interprets the voltage drop as an immediate low-voltage condition and shuts down to protect the SoC. Run one full discharge to below 5% and a full charge to 100% without interruption — this forces the coulomb counter to rewrite its baseline against the new cell.

USB fast charge not activating after battery replacement

On the first charge cycle after installation, the charge IC may not handshake with the proprietary fast-charge protocol because the BMS has not yet confirmed a stable cell state. The device defaults to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Charge the phone fully on standard charge first, then power cycle the device. Fast charging typically re-enables on the second charge cycle once the BMS has logged an initial full charge event.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Redmi K80 5G shuts off at around 25% after fitting the BM69 — the percentage looked fine right up until it died. What's causing this?

The fuel gauge IC is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. When load spikes — from the modem, screen, or GPS — the new cell's voltage drops faster than the old curve predicts, and the phone cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one uninterrupted full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets its baseline and the shutdowns stop.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after swapping in the BM69 — is something wrong?

This is normal on the first two or three cycles with a new high-impedance cell. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell whose internal resistance hasn't yet settled from storage state, which generates slightly more heat than a conditioned cell. Keep the phone out of a case during those first charges and charge on a flat surface. If warmth continues past the third full cycle or the back feels hot rather than warm, check that the battery flex connector is fully seated and not pinched.

My Redmi Note 8 Pro is jumping between percentage readings — going from 60% up to 68% and back — after the BM69 swap. Is the new battery faulty?

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. It lost its reference data when the old cell was disconnected, and it's now estimating charge state against an incomplete discharge curve. The readings stabilize after one complete discharge and charge cycle without interruption. Charge the phone to 100%, let it discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge back to 100% in one session — the coulomb counter will lock onto the new cell's curve and the erratic jumps will stop.
