Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo V2412 / Y100 4G — 3.91V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA43)

The BA43 is the OEM-matched Li-Polymer cell for the Vivo V2412 and Y100 4G smartphones. It runs at 3.91V nominal and delivers 4900mAh (19.16Wh). Install this when the original cell fails to hold charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • V2412 and Y100 4G platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V2412 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge negotiation on first connection, balancing correctly at 4.35V full-charge cutoff with no thermal flags during the initial cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes amps into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement BA43

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve in memory. The new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff under modem or display load than the old degraded cell did, so the phone shuts off before the percentage reaches zero. The fix is a full calibration cycle — drain the phone until it powers off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without pulling the cable. After one clean cycle, percentage readings should track actual cell voltage accurately.

USB fast charge not activating after installation

Vivo's proprietary fast charge protocol requires the charge IC to authenticate the battery BMS before boosting current above standard 5V/1A. On a fresh cell, this handshake sometimes fails on the first cycle because the BMS firmware initialises conservatively with an uncalibrated coulomb counter. Plug into the original Vivo charger — not a third-party adapter — and allow one full standard-rate charge to complete. Fast charge should activate automatically on the second connection once the BMS has logged a complete cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vivo V2412 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the BA43 — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in the V2412 is still reading the old cell's discharge curve and calling a low-voltage cutoff too early on the new BA43. Run one full calibration cycle — let the phone drain completely until it powers off on its own, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the shutdowns stop.

The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new BA43 — is that normal?

Yes, and it is temporary. A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat as it pushes current into the fresh cell on early cycles. Keep the phone out of its case for the first two or three charges to let heat clear. Warmth that is uncomfortable to hold, or that appears mid-cycle rather than near full charge, points to a charge IC fault — check that the connector is fully seated before assuming a cell problem.

After the BA43 sat in a drawer for a few months, my V2412 won't turn on — how do I recover it?

A Li-Polymer cell stored partially discharged can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage from deep discharge. Plug the phone into the original Vivo charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC runs a trickle pre-charge recovery routine below 3.0V before allowing normal charging to resume. If the charging LED does not appear within 45 minutes, the cell has dropped below recoverable voltage and the BA43 will need replacing.
