Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 Series — 3.88V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BF917ABY)
This is a 3.88V, 1890mAh Li-Polymer cell built to the EB-BF917ABY specification. It fits the Samsung Galaxy W21 5G, Galaxy Z Fold2, and Galaxy Z Fold2 UW 5G, along with several related variants. If your foldable is shutting down early or no longer holding a full charge, this cell replaces the degraded original.
- Foldable form factor compatibility: The Galaxy Z Fold2 line and W21 5G share the same narrow-profile cell bay, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The EB-BF917ABY spec covers all variants in this cluster — the connector pinout and BMS communication are identical across the group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Z Fold2 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge current stepped correctly through the CC/CV phases, and the protection circuit responded normally to load transitions from the foldable display and 5G modem.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy Z Fold2 after a cell swap
The Z Fold2 runs a large foldable OLED panel and a 5G modem simultaneously — both pull hard current spikes. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC will hit a voltage cliff under that combined load well before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The phone's protection circuit reads an instantaneous voltage drop below the cutoff threshold and shuts down, even though the state-of-charge counter still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging lets the coulomb counter anchor to the real cell capacity, which typically eliminates the early shutdown.
USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the Z Fold2 sometimes defaults to standard 5V/2A input on the first charge cycle while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is not a fault with the cell or the charger — the protocol negotiation between the USB-PD controller and the new BMS takes one full cycle to stabilise. Charge the device once to 100% using the standard wired charger without a fast-charge adapter. Fast charging should resume normally from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy Z Fold2 just shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is that the cell or the phone?
That's the fuel gauge IC reading stale calibration data from the old cell, not a fault in the new one. The coulomb counter is still using the old discharge curve, so the voltage drops below the protection threshold before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that cycle, the gauge should track the new cell accurately and the early shutdowns should stop.
The battery percentage is jumping around — it read 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back to 55% within a few minutes. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't anchored its coulomb counter yet. This erratic percentage behaviour is normal for the first one to two cycles after a cell replacement on the Z Fold2. Let the phone discharge to automatic shutdown once without interrupting it, then charge fully to 100%. The percentage readings stabilise once the IC has a complete reference cycle recorded.
My Galaxy Z Fold2 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before I installed it.
If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to a normal power button press. Connect the phone to a wired charger — not a wireless pad — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charge indicator light does not appear within 40 minutes, confirm the charger is delivering at least 5V/1A at the cable end.
