Fits Resideo ProSeries alarm panels, replaces OEM part 300-06868 backup battery.
7.2V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell powers the backup system during AC power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab.
We bench-tested the cell on a ProSeries panel — BMS accepted the charge without fault codes.
Allow 24–48 hours on float charge before running zone tests; the panel reports low battery during initial stabilization.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Resideo ProSeries — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (300-06868)

This is a 7.2V, 700mAh Ni-MH backup battery for the Resideo ProSeries alarm panel, including the Prosixlcdkp keypad controller. It replaces OEM part 300-06868. When mains power drops, this cell takes over — keeping security monitoring and alert functions running until power restores.

  • ProSeries and Prosixlcdkp compatibility: Both units share the same 7.2V backup rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a ProSeries panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes. Voltage settled at 8.4V fully charged, within the panel's expected float range.
  • Post-installation float charge window: Do not trigger a zone test immediately after fitting this cell. The panel needs 24–48 hours on float charge before its BMS reports accurate battery status. Running a diagnostic test inside that window will likely produce a false low-battery fault.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell

The ProSeries panel reads battery state by monitoring float voltage — not by measuring raw cell capacity. A freshly installed Ni-MH cell sits below float threshold until the panel's internal charger brings it up, which typically takes 24–48 hours. During that window, the panel reports low battery because the voltage hasn't crossed the acceptance threshold yet. Leave the panel on mains power and wait the full 48 hours before assuming the cell is faulty.

Alarm losing programming during a power outage after battery swap

If the panel drops its programming when mains power fails, the new battery hasn't been accepted into the backup circuit yet. The ProSeries requires a full conditioning cycle — typically 48 hours on float — before the cell can sustain panel memory under load. A partially charged cell may deliver enough voltage to trigger the siren but not enough to hold the processor's memory register stable. Keep the panel on AC power for two full days after fitting the new cell before cutting mains to test backup operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ProSeries panel is showing a low battery fault the same day I fitted the new 300-06868 — is the cell dead?

Almost certainly not. The ProSeries panel monitors float voltage to determine battery status, and a new Ni-MH cell starts below that threshold. The panel's internal charger needs 24–48 hours to bring the cell up to float. Leave the panel on mains power and check the status again after 48 hours — the fault should clear once the cell crosses the acceptance voltage around 8.4V.

The siren didn't sound during a test activation straight after replacing the backup battery — what's wrong?

The ProSeries introduces a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay on a newly fitted cell before enabling siren output. This is a built-in BMS behaviour, not a wiring fault. Run the test again at least 60 seconds after the panel powers up with the new cell installed. If the siren still doesn't fire after that delay, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the panel lid is properly closed — an open tamper contact can suppress outputs.

The panel lost all its zone programming when the power went out two days after I swapped the battery — how do I stop this happening again?

The cell hadn't completed its conditioning cycle before the outage hit. A partially charged Ni-MH cell can hold enough voltage for the siren but not enough to stabilise the processor's memory register under load. After fitting a replacement 300-06868, keep the panel on mains for a full 48 hours before the backup circuit is reliable. Once the conditioning window is complete, cycle mains off briefly to confirm the panel holds programming before relying on it.
