Fits Rokamat FOX concrete grinder; replaces OEM 18V Li-ion battery pack.
18V 6000mAh delivers sustained power for floor grinding cycles without voltage sag.
Slide connector locks into FOX battery slot; orientation marked on pack base.
Bench testing showed BMS stable under motor inrush; no early cutoff detected.
On first use with the FOX, run the grinder at half speed for two cycles before full-load grinding — allows the BMS to establish motor current thresholds on this machine.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rokamat FOX / DRAGONFLY / FILZER Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 18V 6000mAh (108Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the Rokamat FOX, DRAGONFLY, FILZER, and WDVS-Sauger. The FOX is a professional concrete grinding and polishing machine used on floors and surfaces in construction and renovation work. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.

  • FOX, DRAGONFLY, FILZER, and WDVS-Sauger compatibility: These models share the same 18V battery platform, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping packs across the range works because the voltage rail and communication lines are consistent across Rokamat's tool lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack under simulated grinding load cycles and monitored the BMS response during motor-start inrush. Cell voltage stayed within the acceptable window and the BMS held without tripping overcurrent protection through repeated draw spikes.
  • First-use load conditioning on the FOX: On the first two cycles, run the FOX at reduced disc pressure rather than full grinding load. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw before locking overcurrent protection thresholds — preventing nuisance cutoffs on job sites.

BMS cutoff during FOX motor-start inrush surge

When the FOX motor spins up from a dead stop under disc load, inrush current spikes sharply before the motor reaches operating speed. A new pack with uncalibrated overcurrent thresholds can interpret this spike as a fault and cut the output immediately. This is a BMS protection trip, not a dead battery. Running two partial-load cycles first gives the BMS enough data points to distinguish a normal start surge from a genuine overcurrent event.

Pack drops out mid-grind under sustained heavy load

Sustained concrete grinding generates heat at both the motor and the battery cells simultaneously. When cell temperature climbs past the BMS thermal threshold — typically around 60°C — the pack cuts out to protect the cells. This is not a capacity failure. Let the pack cool for at least 10 minutes before resuming, and check that the battery slot in the tool housing is clear of dust buildup blocking airflow. Cell temperature should return below 40°C before restarting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rokamat FOX battery cuts out the instant I press the trigger — why does it trip immediately on start?

The motor's inrush current on a cold start under disc load spikes well above the normal running draw, and a new or recently stored pack can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold before the motor reaches speed. This is not a fault with the battery — it's the BMS reacting to an uncharacterised surge. Run two light-load cycles first: spin the disc with minimal pressure against the surface so the BMS can record normal inrush values before you put it under full grinding load.

The charger shows a solid red light and never starts charging this new Rokamat pack — what's happening?

After storage, individual cells can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage floor, which causes the charger to flag the pack as unrecognisable rather than start a normal charge cycle. Remove the pack, wait two minutes, then reinsert it — some chargers require a manual reset of this low-voltage lockout. If the red light persists, check cell voltage at the pack terminals: any cell reading below 2.5V needs a recovery charge at a lower current rate before the standard charger will engage.

The FOX feels weak and bogs down under load even though the battery shows charged — what causes that?

Voltage sag under high motor draw is the cause — the cell voltage droops when current demand spikes, and the tool loses torque as the rail voltage falls. The most common physical cause is high contact resistance at the battery terminals: dust and concrete grit on job sites pack into the connector and increase resistance. Clean both the battery contacts and the tool slot contacts with a dry brush, then check that the pack seats firmly with no lateral play. A well-seated, clean connection should hold the rail above 16V under load.
