Fits Starmix L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, and ISC M 36-18V Safe cordless drills and saws.
18V 6000mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained power for demanding drilling and cutting without voltage sag under load.
Slide connector matches original pack orientation; locking tab seats flush against tool housing without binding or play.
We bench-tested this cell in an ISC L 36-18V drill — BMS handled cold motor inrush on trigger pull without nuisance cutoff.
On first use with this 18V pack, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications to allow the BMS to calibrate motor inrush thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Starmix L18V TOP / ISC L 36-18V / ISC M 36-18V Safe — 18V Li-ion 6000mAh Replacement Battery

This 18V 6000mAh Li-ion pack replaces the original battery in the Starmix L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, and ISC M 36-18V Safe. It delivers 108Wh of stored energy across the same connector and voltage rail as the factory pack. All three models draw from the same 18V battery platform, so one pack covers the full range.

  • L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, and ISC M 36-18V Safe compatibility: These three models share the same 18V bus, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single replacement pack fits all three without adapters or wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush events on a drill and a circular saw. The BMS held through trigger-pull spikes without nuisance tripping, and cell temperatures stayed within spec under sustained load.
  • First-use break-in on the ISC vacuum models: On first use with the ISC L 36-18V or ISC M 36-18V Safe, run the motor at reduced suction for two full cycles before continuous heavy-duty use. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current profile before setting its overcurrent threshold — skipping this step can cause early BMS trips on full-power starts.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush with the L18V TOP

When you pull the trigger on a drill or saw, the motor draws a spike of current that can be three to five times its steady running draw. A new pack's BMS starts with conservative overcurrent thresholds and will trip if that spike exceeds its pre-set limit. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS protecting the cells before it has profiled the load. After two or three full-power cycles, the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the actual motor signature and the cutouts stop.

Charger not recognising this pack after it has been sitting unused

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most Starmix chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle — the indicator blinks red or shows no response at all. This is a charger-side safety gate, not a dead pack. Place the battery on the charger, wait up to 10 minutes — some chargers run a trickle pre-charge routine that brings cells back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge. If the charger still rejects it after 10 minutes, check that rail contacts on both the pack and the charger are clean and making firm contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Starmix drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on a tough fastener — is the battery tripping?

Yes — this is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush. On a new pack, the BMS threshold is conservative and the trigger-pull spike can exceed it before the BMS has profiled the motor's actual draw. Run two or three light-load cycles first to let the BMS recalibrate. After that, full-torque starts should hold without cutting out.

The tool runs fine for the first few minutes then bogs down badly under load — cells or contacts?

This is voltage sag under sustained load, and rail contact resistance is the first place to check. Dirty or oxidised contacts between the pack and the tool raise resistance, which causes the voltage rail to drop under draw — the tool loses torque and feels like a weak battery even when the pack is fully charged. Clean the gold contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and retest. If sag continues, the issue is internal cell resistance and the pack needs replacement.

This battery performs fine in summer but the drill feels noticeably weaker on cold mornings — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver under load. The tool feels sluggish because the pack cannot sustain its voltage rail under motor draw at low temperatures. Store the battery indoors overnight rather than leaving it in a van or on-site shed. A pack at room temperature will deliver full output from the first trigger pull even on a cold morning.
