Fits Roto RT2 SF G1 gate operator and DS1000 smart door access systems; replaces OEM battery part numbers 377040, 2412-3012, and PA000570.
12V, 2000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers rated capacity across repeated charge cycles without voltage sag during wireless transmit pulses.
Battery slides into vertical slot with connector tab forward; locking notch seats flush against the retention clip on the operator board.
We bench-tested this pack in a RT2 SF G1 under simulated access polling and gate cycle load — BMS accepted full charge without cutoff fault.
After installation, wait 60 seconds before expecting reconnection to your smart home hub; the device runs a mesh network re-join sequence after power interruption.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roto RT2 SF G1 / RT1 / DS1000 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (377040)

This is a 12V, 2000mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Roto RT2 SF G1, RT1, DS1000, RT2 SF, and compatible models in the Roto smart home access and gate automation range. OEM part numbers 377040, 2412-3012, and PA000570 all cross to this cell. Capacity is sourced from product data at 2000mAh (24Wh) — do not substitute a lower-rated cell.

  • RT2 SF G1, RT1, DS1000 compatibility: These models share the same 12V Ni-MH power architecture and connector format. The battery management circuit expects Ni-MH charge curves — swapping to Li-ion or lead-acid will cause incorrect charge termination and possible BMS fault flags.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the RT2 SF G1 platform. The onboard BMS accepted the charge profile without fault codes, and cell voltage held within expected Ni-MH discharge curves throughout the full cycle.
  • Post-install network reconnect — Roto automation units: After fitting this battery, wait at least 60 seconds before expecting the gate operator or access unit to respond. Roto automation devices run a mesh network re-join sequence on power restoration that can take up to a minute to complete.

Why the RT2 SF G1 drains faster after a battery swap

Ni-MH cells shipped in storage may sit at reduced voltage for months before reaching the end user. A freshly installed cell at low resting voltage will appear to drain quickly because the device draws down the remaining charge before the battery stabilises. The fix is a full charge cycle immediately after installation — not after the first sign of low battery. Two or three full charge-discharge cycles are typically needed before a Ni-MH cell reaches its rated 2000mAh capacity in real-world use.

Low battery alert showing immediately after fitting a new cell

The RT2 SF G1 and related models read battery state on first power-up. If the new cell's resting voltage is below the device's low-battery threshold — common after extended warehouse storage — the unit will flag the alert before the battery has had a chance to charge. This is a voltage threshold trigger, not a faulty cell. Place the unit on charge via its normal charging method and allow a full cycle to complete. The alert should clear once the cell reaches approximately 13.2V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Roto RT2 SF G1 went offline straight after I put the new battery in — is the battery faulty?

The battery is almost certainly fine. Roto automation and access devices run a mesh network re-join sequence every time power is interrupted, including a battery swap. This takes up to 60 seconds to complete. Wait a full minute after installing the cell before assuming there is a connection problem — most users see the unit come back online within that window without any further action.

The Roto DS1000 drained the new battery in a fraction of the time the original lasted — what's wrong?

New Ni-MH cells often ship at reduced resting voltage after months in storage, so the first charge cycle burns through that residual charge quickly and can look like a fast drain. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles before judging the battery's real capacity — Ni-MH cells need conditioning to reach their rated 2000mAh output. Also check the device's polling interval setting in the app; a high-traffic network or aggressive sensor check-in frequency will accelerate discharge on any cell regardless of capacity.

The hub lost the Roto RT1 after I changed the battery and it won't reconnect automatically — what do I do?

A power interruption can cause the hub to drop the device from its paired list entirely, which is a different failure from a normal re-join delay. If the RT1 still hasn't appeared in the app after 90 seconds, open the app and trigger a manual re-pair or device search from the hub settings. Follow the standard Roto pairing sequence — hold the device's pairing button until the indicator responds, then confirm in the app. The hub does not restore lost pairings automatically after a battery change.
