Fits Rowenta AC861901/2D0 and AC862901/2D0 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part RS-AC3351.
This 9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH battery restores full motor power to your stick vacuum cleaner.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive lock tab that seats flush.
We bench-tested this cell in the AC862901 platform; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity rapidly; remove from dock immediately after reaching full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta AC861901/2D0 & AC862901/2D0 — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3351)

This is a 9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta AC861901/2D0 and AC862901/2D0 cordless vacuum cleaners. It matches the OEM part number RS-AC3351 and slots into the original battery bay. Capacity figures are from product data — 19.2Wh total energy.

  • AC861901/2D0 and AC862901/2D0 platform: Both models share the same 9.6V motor rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. A single cell pack covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and load discharge on the AC861901 motor controller. The BMS accepted charge within normal parameters and held the voltage rail stable under simulated carpet-load draw.
  • Dock charging discipline: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock indefinitely. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from dock.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a motor voltage sag issue, not a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow. That elevated draw pulls the pack voltage down earlier than the indicator expects. The indicator reads state of charge, not motor load — so it lags behind real-world depletion. Clean or replace the filter first and retest before concluding the battery is at fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery or motor. Sustained restricted airflow — caused by a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to pull current beyond the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after the pack cools slightly. Clear the blockage, confirm the filter is clean, then restart. If cutouts continue on a clear filter, check pack voltage under load — it should hold above 8.4V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta cordless vac runs for a much shorter time than it used to — could a blocked filter be causing this, not the battery?

Yes, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw well above its rated current just to maintain suction. That extra draw depletes the pack faster and can trigger early BMS cutoff. Pull the filter out and hold it up to light — if airflow is visibly restricted, clean or replace it before swapping the battery. Retest with a clean filter and see if runtime normalises.

The replacement battery isn't charging on my Rowenta dock — the charge light doesn't come on at all.

The Rowenta charger expects a specific voltage handshake from the pack before it initiates charge. If the replacement cells arrived deeply discharged, the charger may not recognise the pack as a valid load. Try connecting the dock and waiting 10–15 minutes — some chargers will trickle-feed a deeply discharged Ni-MH pack until it reaches the recognition threshold. If the light still doesn't activate, measure the pack voltage at the terminals; it should read at least 7.2V for the charger to engage.

My battery faded noticeably within a few months of replacing it — why did it lose capacity so fast?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH cordless vacuum packs. Ni-MH cells are sensitive to prolonged trickle charge — leaving the vacuum docked permanently generates heat and degrades cell chemistry faster than normal cycling would. Charge the pack fully, remove it from the dock, and only return it when depleted. Cells cycled this way hold rated capacity significantly longer than those left on permanent standby charge.
