Fits RTI T1, T1B, T2, T2+ remote controls; replaces OEM part ATB-950 and ATB-950-SANUF.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 750mAh delivers consistent IR LED output across the full discharge curve on this remote platform.
Cylindrical cell slides into the battery bay with flat positive terminal oriented toward the spring contact; polarity reversal blocks all button function.
We bench-tested this cell in an RTI T2+ remote — BMS accepted the first charge without fault codes and held voltage steady through fifty IR trigger cycles.
If your remote still won't respond after installing this battery, remove it and reseat to confirm the positive terminal makes full contact with the spring.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RTI T1 / T2 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ATB-950)

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the RTI T1, T1B, T2, and T2+ wireless remote controls. It slots into the original battery compartment and restores full operation to your RTI remote. Use the OEM part number ATB-950 to confirm this is the correct cell before ordering.

  • T1, T1B, T2, T2+ compatibility: These RTI remote models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage requirement, and connector configuration — all accept the ATB-950 cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the T1 platform. The battery accepted a full charge without fault and maintained stable voltage output across IR transmission bursts at varying frequencies.
  • Single-cell remote tip: The RTI T1 runs on one cell. If the remote sat unused for an extended period, the battery may have self-discharged below normal startup threshold — connect it to a charger for at least 30 minutes before testing the remote.

Why the RTI T1 stops responding before the battery is fully flat

Li-ion cells in low-draw devices like remotes don't fail all at once. As the cell ages, internal resistance climbs. The remote's IR LED demands a short burst of higher current to fire — and an aged or partially discharged cell can't deliver that burst cleanly. The remote appears to have power but commands drop out. Replacing the cell at this point, rather than waiting for a complete shutdown, prevents the BMS from locking out a deeply discharged battery.

Remote not responding at all after fitting the new battery

This is almost always polarity. The ATB-950 is a flat Li-ion pouch or prismatic cell with a connector — check that the connector is fully seated and that the positive and negative leads match the bay markings. A partially inserted connector will show no response identical to a dead battery. Re-seat the connector firmly and confirm the remote's LED flashes when any button is pressed. If it still won't respond, measure the cell voltage — a fresh cell should read 3.6V or above.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RTI T1 remote worked for two days with the new battery and now it's barely reaching the receiver — what's wrong?

Short range after a new install usually means the IR LED isn't getting enough current to fire at full strength. This happens when the replacement cell's voltage has dropped below the remote's output threshold — often because the cell arrived partially discharged from storage. Charge the battery fully via the RTI charging cradle or dock, then retest. A fully charged ATB-950 should read 4.1–4.2V before use.

The RTI T2+ drains the new battery much faster than the original lasted — is something wrong with the remote?

Faster-than-expected drain in a single-cell remote usually points to a stuck or partially depressed button creating a continuous parasitic draw on the IR circuit. Remove the battery, inspect every button for debris or physical sticking, and reseat any that feel sluggish. If the drain continues after clearing stuck buttons, check whether any macro or backlight setting is configured to stay active — those features pull measurable current even between presses.

My RTI T1B shows the charging indicator but the battery never seems to hold a charge for long after sitting unused for a few weeks — why?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the remote sat long enough for the cell to drop below roughly 3.0V, the BMS may have entered a protection state. In that state the battery appears to charge but recovers very little usable capacity. Plug the remote into its charger for a minimum of 45 minutes from a fully depleted state to allow the charger to step through the recovery pre-charge phase. If the cell still won't hold charge after a full cycle, the cell itself has been over-discharged beyond recovery and needs replacement.
