Fits SABA A8100, A8200, CM1, CM2 digital cameras; replaces exhausted 6V Ni-MH cells across 32+ SABA compact models.
6V, 2100mAh capacity delivers full power to autofocus, flash, and image processing without voltage sag during capture sequences.
Connector slides straight into camera battery compartment with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush with no modification required.
We bench-tested this cell in an A8100 body — BMS accepted the fresh pack on first insertion, display showed accurate charge state throughout discharge cycle.
On initial use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body rather than external charger; SABA firmware maps cell voltage on first power-up and needs that cycle to display accurate remaining percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SABA A8100 / A8200 / CM1 / CM2 Series — 6V 2100mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for SABA compact digital cameras including the A8100, A8200, CM1, and CM2 series, plus 31 additional compatible models. It matches the original cell format, voltage rail, and connector footprint. Capacity is rated at 12.6Wh as measured from the product specification.

  • A8100 / A8200 / CM series compatibility: These models share the same 6V power architecture, physical cell dimensions (88.95 × 47.55 × 20.73mm), and charge circuit. The camera body draws from the same voltage rail whether shooting stills or writing to card, so one cell format covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible camera bodies. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags after one complete charge cycle run through the camera body directly. Voltage held stable across image capture and flash recharge load.
  • First-use charge cycle — camera body only: Run the first charge through the camera body, not a third-party external charger. Some SABA bodies need that in-camera charge session to map the new cell's discharge curve and display battery-remaining accurately.

Flash recycling current dragging down available shot count

The SABA A8100 uses an onboard flash capacitor that pulls a sharp recharge current spike after each flash discharge. On a Ni-MH cell, that spike draws from the same rail supplying the image processor and card write buffer. As the cell ages or sits at a lower state of charge, the voltage sag during capacitor recharge can trigger the camera's low-power warning before the cell is genuinely flat. A fresh 2100mAh cell at full charge handles these spikes without measurable sag across the first half of the discharge curve.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SABA display

Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than Li-ion, and the SABA body's voltage-threshold indicator was calibrated to a specific curve. A new cell — or one that hasn't completed an initial calibration cycle — can map its charge state differently, causing the display to jump between readings. This is a measurement artefact, not a cell fault. Run one full charge-to-empty cycle through the camera body and the indicator will track consistently. After that cycle, the displayed percentage should stabilise to within a few points of actual remaining capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SABA A8100 shows a dead battery icon straight after I fit this new cell — is the battery faulty?

Almost always, no. The SABA body runs a voltage handshake on startup, and a new Ni-MH cell that hasn't been charged in-camera yet can sit at a resting voltage that the camera reads as depleted. Place the battery in the camera, connect to the OEM charger or charge via the camera body's USB port, and let it complete one full charge cycle. After that cycle, power on — the camera should accept the cell and show a normal charge state.

Shot count dropped significantly compared to what I got with the original battery — why?

Flash, continuous autofocus, image stabilisation, and extended video recording all draw current beyond the baseline the spec shot count assumes. Ni-MH cells also take two to three full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity after sitting in storage. Run three full cycles before comparing shot counts. If count is still low after conditioning, check that the camera body's power-saving settings match what you used with the original cell.

The SABA camera body feels warm during sustained video recording — is this a battery issue?

The heat comes mainly from the image sensor, processor, and stabilisation motor running simultaneously, not from the cell itself. The 6V Ni-MH cell does carry more current under combined video load, and Ni-MH chemistry generates more heat during discharge than Li-ion at equivalent draw. Keep the camera out of direct sunlight during long recording sessions and avoid blocking the body's vent points. If the body shuts down, let it cool for five minutes and check that the cell is above 5.4V before restarting.
