Fits Sager NP6659, NP2670, NP5653, NP2650 and related models; cross-reference your original battery part number before ordering.
11.1V, 4400mAh lithium-ion delivers 48.84Wh to sustain CPU and display load on extended work sessions away from AC.
Connector seats into the battery bay slot with a single locking tab on the left edge; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested the cell on a NP6659 unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes or charge limiting.
After installation, run one full discharge cycle to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn routine and clears health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sager NP6659 / NP2670 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery for the Sager NP6659, NP2670, NP5653, NP2650, and related notebooks. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and uses the same connector. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge between sessions.

  • NP6659 / NP2670 platform compatibility: These models share a common battery bay spec, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the series. One cell fits the group because Sager used the same power rail and SMBus communication line across these chassis generations.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and low-voltage cutoff. The BMS tripped correctly at the floor voltage and accepted a full recharge without fault flags. Cell capacity matched the rated 4400mAh within tolerance.
  • First-cycle calibration on the NP6659: After installing, run one full discharge to the hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health after replacement on the NP6659

The NP6659 BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM. A new cell ships with default EEPROM values that don't match what the BIOS expects after years of tracking the old cell. The system flags this mismatch as degraded health — even though the cell is new. Running the battery learn cycle described above rewrites those baseline values and clears the warning within one to two full charge cycles.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown on the gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't finished calibrating against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The IC inherited learned cutoff points from the old, degraded cell and applies them to the new one — calling 25% as empty. It is not a battery fault. Run two to three complete discharge-to-hibernate, charge-to-100% cycles and the gauge will recalibrate. After the third cycle, the shutdown point should realign to the true low-voltage floor near 9V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sager NP6659 shows the replacement battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC in the NP6659 reads state-of-charge data stored on the old cell's EEPROM. When a new cell is installed, those stored values are gone and the IC has no calibration baseline, so Windows reports 0% or unknown. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. The gauge IC rebuilds its calibration table against the new cell across the first two to three full cycles.

The battery Wh rating in Device Manager shows something different from what I ordered — is the cell wrong?

It is not wrong. The Wh figure Windows reads comes from the EEPROM on the new cell, which stores the chemistry-rated value at manufacture. The NP6659's firmware may display the old cell's learned Wh or round the figure differently. The actual cell in this listing is rated at 48.84Wh at 11.1V and 4400mAh — verify those figures against the physical label on the battery, not the OS readout.

New battery won't charge above 80% on the NP6659 — is this a fault?

Not necessarily. Some Sager BIOS versions ship with a charge-limit setting enabled at the firmware level, capping charge at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Check the BIOS power settings under the battery or charging section and confirm the limit is set to 100%. If no BIOS setting is present and charge still stops at 80%, force a full discharge to hibernate cutoff and then reconnect AC — some BMS firmware won't resume full charging until it sees a clean low-voltage reset.
