Fits Samsung Digimax L55, L55W, L85 digital cameras; replaces OEM part SB-L1237 and SLB-1237.
Voltage 3.7V, capacity 1230mAh — delivers full frame count on this compact camera body.
Connector slides straight into the battery chamber with locking tab engagement on the left side.
We bench-tested the BMS against the Digimax L55 charger; cell accepted without fault codes or delays.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before heavy shooting — the Digimax firmware requires an internal charge cycle to map battery percentage display correctly to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Digimax L55 / L55W / L85 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SB-L1237)

This is a 3.7V, 1230mAh (4.55Wh) lithium-ion battery that replaces the Samsung SB-L1237 and SLB-1237 cells. It fits the Digimax L55, Digimax L55W, and Digimax L85 compact digital cameras. Same voltage, same form factor, same connector as the original.

  • Digimax L55, L55W, and L85 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V rail, and contact layout. The SB-L1237 footprint and connector pin-out are identical across the range, so one SKU covers all three bodies without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Digimax L55 body. The BMS accepted the cell without rejection flags, voltage reporting tracked correctly through the discharge curve, and the low-battery cutoff triggered at the expected threshold.
  • First-use charge cycle on the Digimax L55: Run one full charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before your first shooting session. The Digimax BMS maps battery-remaining display against a charge curve it calibrates on first use — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Digimax L55 display

The Digimax L55 maps its battery indicator against fixed voltage thresholds calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge profile, causing the indicator to jump — for example, dropping from 75% to 40% in a single shot. This is not a cell fault. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the BMS will re-map its thresholds to the new cell's curve. After that, the indicator stabilises and tracks accurately through the full discharge range.

Camera showing dead battery icon immediately after inserting a charged replacement

Some Digimax L55 bodies reject a new cell on first insertion if the cell voltage sits outside the narrow window the BMS expects at startup. This triggers a false dead-battery warning even on a fully charged replacement. Remove the battery, insert it again, and power on — most cases clear on the second insertion attempt. If the warning persists, place the cell in an OEM charger until the charge LED confirms a full charge, then reinsert. The camera should read the cell correctly at 4.2V full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Digimax L55 shows a dead battery icon the moment I put in the new replacement — is the cell faulty?

Not usually. The Digimax BMS does a voltage check at startup and rejects the cell if it reads outside its expected window, even when the cell is charged. Remove the battery, reinsert it, and power on again — this clears the flag in most cases. If the icon persists, charge the cell fully in the OEM charger first, then reinsert; the camera expects to see 4.2V at full charge before it accepts the cell as valid.

The battery percentage on my L55 drops from 80% to 20% in just a few shots — what's causing this?

The L55's indicator maps remaining charge against fixed voltage thresholds tuned to the original cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve hits those thresholds at different points, making the display jump. Run the battery through two complete charge-discharge cycles inside the camera body and the BMS recalibrates its threshold mapping to the new cell. After two cycles, the percentage display tracks steadily through the full range.

Flash recycling time feels slower on my Digimax L85 with the new battery — why?

Flash capacitor recharge draws a concentrated current pulse from the cell. If the replacement cell's internal resistance is slightly higher than the original — common in the first few cycles before the cell is broken in — the capacitor recharges more slowly between shots. Run five to ten full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell and bring internal resistance down. If slow recycling continues past ten cycles, check that the battery contacts in the camera bay are clean and making firm contact, as even light oxidation adds resistance to that recharge path.
